Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Porsche 911. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. I will stop posting links (at this stage) to external pages, however i am completely confused as to why the content links are being blocked i have aimed to focus the link as directly as possible to the subject pages e.g. where there are pages that relate to the 959/911 etc i have added direct links to pages on our site that would be of use to the reader on wikipedia, however i keep receiving emails claiming this is spam. I note there are on some of these pages other magazines applying content of similar reference and yet these are not being rejected. In general we try to limit the number of external links on articles. A link should really only be added if it adds something unique and relevant that the wiki article could not provide by itself. See Wikipedia:External links for what is appropriate. It is fine to use articles as sources if you are adding content, but you shouldn't just add links for the sake of adding links. It reflects poorly on your intentions when every article addition is an external link to the same site. That's great i was just typing a response particularly in reference to the 'stop' that you have just sent me but the whole thing was deleted due to the stop response coming through. Guess that answers my question, that supplying the user with applicable content and 'brand new' review and information is not allowed, presumably this 'must' be put within the content block rather than supplying an external link. I do notice, on my journey through these pages that there are several external sites that are not official porsche sites but have been allowed to add external links all over, is this because they are adding content to the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CAR Online (talk • contribs) 16:40, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If every magazine/newspaper/blog/etc. article that talks about a car was linked to in a wiki article then the external links section would be very bloated. External links currently on articles may or may not be appropriate. It is possible that they should be removed as well. swa q 17:03, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok i guess the best thing to do is have some links on our own built page, that is purely relevant to the website itself?? the other links i refer to are all over the pages i have been looking at and have been there for weeks, guess they slipped through the net then.
