Could you clarify why you are leaving 4im warnings after two edits? (Evidence) This doesn't seem like the level of vandalism to warrant that. I'm not criticizing, I'm just asking for an explanation because I'm confused by this... KingofScorpions 00:31, 13 March 2020 (UTC)

I noticed a similar thing at User_talk:134.173.92.5, where you gave a level 4im warning after one edit making a joke (which imo is not really the most severe form of vandalism), and I see some others have expressed similar concerns on your talk page before. I definitely understand the frustration of seeing someone who is clearly just here to vandalize get initially let off the hook and allowed to continue vandalizing creating more work for others, but for the milder cases like the one at Pomona's article, consider that using a less strongly-worded warning (which still clearly gets the point across) might be more effective in preventing future vandalism. Humor is funniest when it's played against the humorless, and slapping a big red stop sign in front of someone who was (in their view) just trying to have some innocent fun makes us come across as humorless and just eggs them on, whereas polite notes explaining why vandalism is a problem are generally received less defensively and occasionally even convert vandals into productive contributors. I agree, but I also think that IMO, 4im after one or two edits is a bit overkill. I might have done a level 2 or maybe a level 3 instead. KingofScorpions 16:21, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
