Edit warring[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Lilford Hall; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Woody (talk) 16:31, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Woody
I have tried exactly what you suggest, namely to engage with M Steeples on the 'talk' page. However, he is a journalist with an agenda and no interest in the history of the Hall.
Can you mediate on this matter?

Which account should I be dealing with? Please use one account as requested at User talk:Charles_A_Micklewright#Multiple accounts. Woody (talk) 17:00, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Woody - Please use the Charles A Micklewright account. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Charles A Micklewright (talkcontribs) 17:02, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Woody - I note that you have unblocked the article on Lilford Hall. I am more than happy to resolve this matter on the talk page, and indeed have already suggested an amendment for Nedrutland's comments. My concern is with M Steeples since he may start amending the article itself without any discussion on the talk page. What should I do if this happens? M Steeples has also made personal comments against me in the edit section about Penny Slinger who contrary to his insinuations happens to be a friend of mine. I await your advice on how to deal with this whole matter. Regards Charles — Preceding unsigned comment added by C A Micklewright (talkcontribs) 18:52, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please use one account: As I have already told you, You should only edit with one account. Using multiple accounts in this manner is liable to get one or both blocked. I suggest you use the other one and redirect this page there (as I have already suggested on the other page). Otherwise there is far too much duplication. I would suggest you stop worrying about the other user and their actions and concentrate on the content questions on the article talk page. Any breaches of the Behavioural Guidelines by any editor will result in appropriate action including preventing them from editing. Woody (talk) 19:01, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
