Jang In-hwan[edit]

I just nominated your article Jang In-hwan for DYK for September 27. In looking at the article, it looked substantially different from the article you used as a base, Jeon Myeong-un. If you disagree with this, or if you do not like the hook or think it is inaccurate, please feel free to change or remove it. Regards, --Mattisse 00:31, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks & a request[edit]

Thank you so much for your work at Sun Ning Railway Company. Could you take a look at the related Chin Gee Hee and see if you have something to add? - Jmabel | Talk 18:34, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad to see th article DYK on the main page. It exposes readers to an episode of Korean history that is little known. I learned a lot from following the links in the hook. Good work! --Mattisse 12:56, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've put the AFD of this article on hold. Could you let me know what the Korean Wikipedia's article is? - Ta bu shi da yu 15:15, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unsung heroes[edit]

Yup; I have no interest in being "didactic". However, as the picture of the korean actor portraying Klaus (who is in the same case as the woman portraying Janet O'Neill) was used several times for portraying Jenkins in various media and websites, I thought it would be useful to correct that commonly-made mistake. However, it might not be that useful after all, as the article includes the picture of a very-recognizable Jenkins playing another part. As for "Klaus" being eurasian, examination of another picture shows that he has slanted eyes, though his features are mostly caucasian. Wedineinheck 08:09, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if kimsoft.com was the only culprit for spreading this mistake, but it is recurrent in many websites : http://www.edithere.com/barry/2004/07/08 and I saw that picture (supposed to represent Jenkins) many times in the months which preceded Jenkins' release from North Korea (and before anyone made a detailed review of that movie, establishing that Jenkins played another character). The picture on kimsoft is indeed Colonel Klaus, as another page on that website sports a photo of that character : http://www.kimsoft.com/2004/unsung03.jpg Unless they got it wrong several times, I assume this is him. I enlarged that other picture and saw that the actor playing Klaus seems to have slanted eyes, though his nose and features look caucasian. Hence, he is most probably a eurasian actor, like "Janet O'Neill". I doubt that a 100% asian man could be made to look that caucasian, even with good make-up (granted, the pictures are bad). Anyway, even when the picture was first shown, I doubted that he could be Jenkins, as their faces' bone structures are very different. Jenkins has a very distinctive face. However, given the lack of information about North Korean cinema, I doubt we will ever find more info about that specific performer. Wedineinheck 09:57, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should these two templates (Template:Foreign relations of China and Template:China ties) be merged together? I'm not so sure. Hadoooookin 22:52, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
