Speedy deletion nomination of Skeptics Canada[edit]

A tag has been placed on Skeptics Canada requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. Skeptics Canada[edit]

I note that this page is up for speedy deletion, I'm a little familiar with the organization, and thought I'd offer to lend you a helping hand, if you think you could use one. My assessment is that the page is up for deletion because it doesn't contain any reliable sources; arm's-length, third-party expert sources that assert the notability of the subject in a verifiable way. That would be things like articles about the organization in magazines and newspapers. In addition, although I am slightly familiar with the situation with respect to York University and the Chiropractic College, I looked and found that there is no evidence in Wikipedia articles about those organizations that backs up your assertion of Skeptics Canada's involvement in that situation. If you could find specific reliable sources to back up that assertion, that would be very useful in bolstering the group's notability; as well, it would be useful to insert material into the articles about the two organizations that links them to your group's article, etc. Note that, if the article is "speedy deleted" -- which is likely to happen in the very near future -- I can assist you by retrieving the deleted content and placing it into what we call a "sandbox" page where you can work on it to add the kinds of reliable sources I've mentioned. ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
