Hi Cannolis, regarding the removal of my external link on the Pleasantville movie page. The link I do think is appropriate as the page in question contained an encyclopedic breakdown of key movie scenes and analyzes the philosophy of each scene from a religious worldview. Hi, it's not that the external link was appropriate in content, but its addition to multiple articles seemed to be WP:LINKSPAM. Admittedly, I only gave the linked site a cursory inspection, but it appears to be some sort of personal blog, and as per WP:LINKSTOAVOID #12, would not be eligible for inclusion. If you believe the author of the page is indeed a recognized authority on religious critiques of films or versions of the Bible, please feel free to find WP:RELIABLESOURCES to back that up. Thanks. Violating NPOV and vandalism re Miss Ethiopia

Can you please take a look at the Miss Ethiopia entry? the editor Habeshakonjo is obviously deliberately violating NPOV he has re written the entire article from scratch deleting original sourced and verifiable information, and cites no sources for his new version and claims in his new entry and it replaced it so it reads like an advert for his company, he is directly related to EAVPG he keeps reverting the wiki entry to suit his self promoting version, can the page be 3O'd sorted out and locked? there are multiple national pageant organisers and various franchise holders in Ethiopia who each do their own pageant, but he deletes all references to them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.28.33.235 (talk) 02:50, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

I'm not sure how that whole thing works, I'm not an admin, but I think there are so many pages that the template is added to that it might be a huge hassle for whichever admin is unfortunate enough to have to deal with him. Hopefully someone with experience with rangeblocks will be able to assist with the problem soon. I'm going to stop wasting my time undoing his nonsense, hopefully it will get resolved soon. I'm 99.9% certain that this was unintentional, as you *really* do not look like a vandalism account. :) Anyway, from your edit comment you appear to have been trying to revert the edit previous to yours. In undoing your (unintentional) blanking, the page is now back to the state from before your "revert". Looking at that previous edit, it's not obvious vandalism. Since it's on a page that I do not normally edit, and that I do not have any real knowledge of, I do not feel comfortable reverting that edit myself. But if you still feel that it's "unconstructive", as you called it, then you likely will want to revert it yourself again. My mistake, I use a program to quickly scroll through recent edits. Lots of vandals tend to add text somewhat similar to your edit on articles about living people, and given the similar lack of edit summary, I incorrectly thought yours was vandalism. I've looked at one of the sources already provided on the page, and it also says Claux illustrated the book, so I've repositioned the source to show that your edit is sourced. My apologies. Few points are not true about QNET in the review: 1- please find the link to the compensation plan which clearly shows that the IR purchases a product, hence he can never lose money by startimg up with qnet, hence the company will never accept money unless it is a registration fee after accepting all the terms and conditions and then the exact amount for a purchase of a product. The change was nevertheless reverted with no explanation as to why. You asked me to "next time" fill out the "reason for edit" field.. I did this both times, you know this and you're ignoring it. Please explain why you reverted my change (the deletion of a sentence with no evidence to back it up except for 2x links to websites with a similar lack of evidence) or I will assume the obvious reason and know that this website is just as crooked as the rest. I'm not sure why you are bringing up the Sharif diff, changing someone's birthday to April 1st when the source listed says otherwise seems like blatant vandalism.

I removed your edit as all it did was remove a counter-argument and a source from a segment, while leaving an conspiracy claim unsourced and unanswered. This appeared to be POV pushing, especially when I did not see the edit summary, and so I removed it. - The sentence which was left was not a claim at all, it was a statement that many believe the claim to be true. I'm not certain what source could be used for such a statement? The sentence I kept removing, and which beguilingly remains intact, was sourced, yes. The source was not sourced. The sentence is possibly true, possibly untrue. It is presented as fact and should not be.

While the Radford source may not be the best source, I think the one from the Calgary Herald should suffice. Wikipedia generally accepts news articles from well-established outlets to be reliable, and assumes that the reporter has done their work properly. Again, if you have questions regarding the reliability of such a source, the article's talk page would be a good outlet to discuss them and receive more feedback than just mine. Fotos Politis by user Johnbastias

Dear Cannolis, I noticed that you deleted a large part of my entry on "Fotos Politis", but then placed it back where it was. I suppose your first reaction was that it was unnecessary or irrelevant. What I am trying to do is not to translate the relevant Greek entry, also authored by me, on a subject and a person quite well known in Greece, but to introduce to your American public a name they will seldom come across. It is an important name in the development of the Greek theater, but there are many things that have to be explained since they are not very well handled in the en.Wikipedia. Look for example at the first entry for F. Politis of less than one page by someone, whose English was less than elementary, and whose knowledge of the subject non existent. Of course, he was blocked two years ago, but his entree was still there for all to see and be misinformed. Consequently, I have added material like "The naming of the National Theater" or the contribution of the poet Ioannis Gryparis, that are usually avoided because most people don't bother to go to the published sources of the time or academic sources and depend on whatever is most convenient. I don't want to take up too much of your time but for both the information is misleading and should be put right. When I finish the entry and complete the Bibliography and the References, you can see the result and I would be happy to see your comments. Sorry, I use a browser to scroll through recent edits very quickly to revert vandalizing edits, and I saw a single edit that added "tr. by Johnbastias". At first, I thought it was someone just tagging a page with their name as the browser highlights only the addition in the most recent edit and not all the previous edits. Thanks for the explanation. I told him to focus on translating content, which may help ensuring the new content is encyclopedic, and to double check the entries with an English tutor. The students should have a sufficient grasp of English for the course, and most do (no other student got a warning :>). But, there is always a variance. If he doesn't improve, I may have to ask him to contribute to Korean Wikipedia indeed, the problem is I don't read Korean. Sigh. I thought all the students with poor English dropped the course after the first week, but... Thanks for stopping by and offering advice, I hope we can work this out. Grammar

Hey there. Nothing major, but a note about your recent edit at North Korea: "North Korea, along with Cuba, are the only two states with an almost entirely government-planned, state-owned economy." First, the comma you inserted isn't an Oxford comma. The Oxford comma is the comma before the 'and' in a list, for example after B in a list A, B, and C.

Secondly, your edit made the sentence grammatically incorrect. In a sentence formatted that way, the verb after the part between the commas (I have a feeling I'm forgetting some grammar terminology) has to work even if the part in the commas was removed. In this case, it didn't - "North Korea are the only two states" isn't grammatically valid. The sentence could have read "North Korea, along with Cuba, is one of only two states" or (as another editor already changed it to) "North Korea and Cuba are the only two states".

1. Just because he is referred to as İNKILÂPÇI in Turkey does not mean the term "reformist" should be used in English. Reformist means something quite particular. The way the term "revolutionary" in the article is being used is not as a title as you seem to be using İNKILÂPÇI, it is a description. Reading the definition of 'revolutionary' in English may be helpful to your understanding.

2. I am no expert on pronunciations but the pronunciation you advocated in your original edit request is the exact same as that in the article. disagree per above. for the last time, read the definition of revolutionary which I have already linked to you. maybe look through the list of revolutionaries, some are similar to Castro, however the list also includes Gandhi, Desmond Tutu, Frantz Fanon, etc.

perhaps more importantly, the Turkish War of Independence is indeed a revolution, e.g. "a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time." see Turkish Revolution. Right, sorry that wasn't very clear. I was responding to the edit request for August 30 and removing the date/place of death in the infobox as I didn't see any sources reporting his death. I was also removing the "other occupation: special services" bit from the infobox as I agreed with your removing the special services for Russian teams section, that whole bit seemed very much like OR/angry fan ranting. I personally am not particularly interested in looking for sources for that bit, though of course I too would have no problems with it being reinstated with sources. I do not believe that the text I added was making a "medical claim", but simply recording a fact. There was a trial held in India. The results of that trial indicated an improved outcome, and as such a more rigid trial would need to be conducted before any medical claim could be made.

Personally I am very skeptical of homeopathy, but this trial did take place. That is just a matter of fact. Furthermore the text clearly indicated that any conclusion can only be made in a more controlled double-blind study.

How would you suggest this information be captured on the Wikipedia page? Regardless of whether there is any efficacy of homeopathy or not, the information regarding its use as an attempt at treating this condition is nonetheless factual.

Deleting this information, rather than considering how it could be improved, indicates a lack of neutral point of view that is reactionary and dogmatic. Xtempore (talk) 01:24, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

I would suggest it not be captured. Wikipedia is not a indiscriminate collector of information, we do not report on every single bit of anything because a) that would simply be overwhelming and b) it lends undue weight to things that may not be notable. So while it is indeed factual that they performed a study, the question of importance remains. As you said yourself, no conclusion was drawn from the study (no surprise as an observational study), so who cares if they did it? If it were a high quality WP:MEDRS compliant metaanalysis or even a RCT that might be another thing, but discussing a weak observational study in article space lends undue weight to homeopathy as a treatment modality. IMDb isn't a reliable source, just like Wikipedia isn't, as you or I can make changes to it. However, there seems to be a contradiction in the sources that I can find. The one we have currently cited in Ritter's and Yasbeck's articles says they were married in 1999 and that was 1 week after Stella's birth. On the other hand, I can find articles that say John died on her 5th birthday, which would place her birth at 1998. Not quite sure where to go with this. Keanu Reeves

I can't resist asking if Cheer Up Keanu Day was in any way responsible for Reeves's current ebullience. Did he even know about it? "Oh, the internet deal," he says vaguely. "It was brought to my attention. Yeah, it was funny. But no, the book predates that by a long time. We finished it in August 2009. It is hopefully, in a quiet and enjoyable way, transformative. The kind of thing that takes you from this one place to another – to look at yourself and, y'know, it can always be worse. I hate that sentence: of course it can always be worse!"

The entire Guardian piece was for his book, not for Cheer Up Keanu Day. That said, this paragraph is noticeable.

Firstly, it shows that the "Ode To Happiness" book was completed before those pictures of him on that park bench came to light. Meaning... he was still "sad", even after having completed the book. Secondly, this particular quote shows him attempting to stay on the topic of the book, but the second part of the comment references the attention he received as a result of the pictures/Cheer Up Keanu Day. Lastly, when I rewrote the bulk of his "Personal Life" section about a year ago, the depth of tragedy in his life was detailed to a greater extent than it is now.

It's a good quote, given the proper context of his background. I've put a ton of time into Keanu Reeve's page, but I'm not gonna go back & forth on this. If you really think the quote is so out of place, then so be it. The flow of the Personal Life section has been eroded anyways. It is now pretty awful - two and three sentence subsections - ugh. I do think the quote is out of place - it has little to do with the meme itself, except the first two sentences. I have no disagreement with using those two sentences by themselves to discuss the meme(and as I noted on the article's talk page, the meme being discussed at all in a Guardian piece is notable), but the body of the quote is specifically about the book. Wikipedia is not the place to WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS. The fact that his degrees are fake is already mentioned in the lede - "In 2005, an investigation into his background revealed that his degrees were fake." The way you added this information (which was already there), was inappropriate - replacing that he is a politician and broadcaster with being "famous for fake degrees', which is giving grossly undue weight. Well, first of all, I would not say Beethoven was from the UK as he was born in Germany. Secondly, I don't know or care where Buddha was born. What I do know and care about is that just before where you made your addition there was a "Note: Gautama was a Shakya, born in the Shakya republic. Nepal did not exist at that time. The Shakya territory covered an area which is nowadays partly in Nepal, partly in India. Any further additions will be removed." One more thing: When you close a case using {{DRN archive top}} you also have to put {{DRN archive bottom}} at the end of the case or everything below it on the DRN page gets included in the archive. Yes, it looks like you commented correctly on the main mage for the deletion discussion. If you want to make another edit request for the article itself, you would post on Talk:Brian Boxer Wachler, but your account is autoconfirmed by virtue of being older than 4 days and having more than 10 edits, so semi-protection does not block you from editing, and you do not need to make a request for others to make an edit for you. Suggesting your edits on the talk page first is encouraged however. Keep in mind that any changes to any article should be reliably sourced, particularly with secondary sources, and edits to an article under consideration at the Articles for Deletion process will be under much closer scrutiny than most. Hi Cannolis. I had edited the page because my mother was Dorothy Ramsay nee Nicholson and was born in that house in 1942, as were her sisters Joyce, Kathy, and brother Harry. Her father was Ernest Nicholson who was a tennant farmer there for a number of years before moving elsewhere and then to Canada in 1956. The stories of supernatural goings on there have been in my family since I was a small child. I am not sure how to add a citation for that from where I am in Trinidad and Tobago.
