Greetings Respected Wikipedian, I am (anonymous) I created my account 7 months ago just to upload a picture but recently I am thinking to edit Wikipedia as a hobby so created a new account User:EƎ (i know its a cool username) but after looking in my saved password log I founded my old account so I logged back into this account. So I need your help can you please change this account username to “EƎ” if you are wondering for security purposes I can give you the password of that account. Since you asked for both admin and non-admin help, here is the non-admin help. Don't create 'cool' usernames. There are often times when some other editor is wanting to communicate with you or about you and it's not especially convenient to have to copy a username as opposed to simply typing it. Keep using the username that people can read and type.

If you do wish to change your username, use the system: WP:CHUS - don't create a new, separate account.

Since you created the other account, we can't just rename your account, but you can abandon this account and use the other one. I would advise you not to, for precisely the reasons jmcgnh alludes to- it makes it harder to communicate with you. Don't worry about how "cool" your username might be, but please remember that this is a global website with people from all over the world, and making it harder for everyone to communicate with you isn't helpful. 331dot (talk) 18:04, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
