WikiProject Wikify April Drive[edit]

Hi there! I thought you might be interested in WikiProject Wikify's April Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive. We'll be trying to reduce the backlog size by over 500 articles and we need your help! Hard-working participants in the drive will receive awards for their contributions. If you have a spare moment, please join and wikify an article or tell your friends. Thanks!

WikiCup 2013 March newsletter[edit]

We are halfway through round two. Pool A sees the strongest competition, with five out of eight of its competitors scoring over 100, and Pool H is lagging, with half of its competitors yet to score. WikiCup veterans lead overall; Pool A's Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) (2010's winner) leads overall, with poolmate London Miyagawa (submissions) (a finalist in 2011 and 2012) not far behind. Pool F's New South Wales Casliber (submissions) (a finalist in 2010, 2011 and 2012) is in third. The top two scorers in each pool, as well as the next highest 16 scorers overall, will progress to round three at the end of April.

Today has seen a number of Easter-themed did you knows from WikiCup participants, and March has seen collaboration from contestants with WikiWomen's History Month. It's great to see the WikiCup being used as a locus of collaboration; if you know of any collaborative efforts going on, or want to start anything up, please feel free to use the WikiCup talk page to help find interested editors. As well as fostering collaboration, we're also seeing the Cup encouraging the improvement of high-importance articles through the bonus point system. Highlights from the last month include GAs on physicist Niels Bohr (Australia Hawkeye7 (submissions)), on the European hare (Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions)), on the constellation Circinus (Alaska Keilana (submissions) and New South Wales Casliber (submissions)) and on the Third Epistle of John (Indiana Cerebellum (submissions)). All of these subjects were covered on at least 50 Wikipedias at the beginning of the year and, subsequently, each contribution was awarded at least three times as many points as normal.

Wikipedians who enjoy friendly competition may be interested in participating in April's wikification drive. While wikifying an article is typically not considered "significant work" such that it can be claimed for WikiCup points, such gnomish work is often invaluable in keeping articles in shape, and is typically very helpful for new writers who may not be familiar with formatting norms.

A quick reminder: now, submission pages will need only a link to the article and a link to the nomination page, or, in the case of good article reviews, a link to the review only. See your submissions' page for details. This will hopefully make updating submission pages a little less tedious. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Disambiguation link notification for April 3[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Johnny Williams (rugby union born 1932), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rugby (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:SKANS logo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:SKANS logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:43, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikify[edit]

Hello there! I would like to point out that I found some of your contributions toward the drive this month unsatisfactory.

  1. Damon Rensing - bare URLs left. Just one wikilink.
  2. Tahir Rasheed (cricketer) - WP:MOS faults, such as capitalised section headings and typos. Bare URLs left. No sort key.
  3. Pomona 12th Street Sharkies. Bare URLs left. Could have wikilinked further.

These are just a few examples. It's ok to make minor edits on articles that fall under the "wikification needed" flag, but I reckon the article must undergo substantial review in order for it to count as a full wikification, not just by removing the particular tag placed on it. There are two ways of going about it: simply removing the tag and hastily making an edit or two, or taking the time to actually sit down and fix the article up, making sure all major issues are addressed, and then going ahead with removing the respective tag, whichever it may be. The full instructions for Wikifying an article are listed, and I think they should be followed. Tell me your thoughts. Regards, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 23:41, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for notifying me, actually you can see that I was only working on the articles with the tag "Underlinked" in the category Category:Articles with too few wikilinks. But I was noticing other mistakes too but sometimes I left them mistakenly.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 04:26, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, unfortunately that's not enough. Full instructions are here. Given that the Wikify tag was deprecated, it's expected of reviewers to fully "wikify" an article before removing any of the new tags, otherwise the article in question would go unnoticed with plenty of mistakes from that moment on. FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 13:02, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have read that instructions and I'm following them. The articles I wikified were small and have little issues so I wikified them quickly with adding wikilinks and infobox.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 07:13, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You don't seem to have been following them, that's exactly my point. Please don't let this continue; be more careful about your wikification. The articles you're wikifying have a lot of issues in some cases. As I said, if you remove the tag, then the article faults which you didn't improve will be eternally present, until somebody stumbles upon them...which could be tomorrow or could be in 5 years' time. Just adding articles to your list for the current drive is not helpful if you don't make the necessary edits. It's fine with me if you don't remove the tags. FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 18:08, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're right at some point but I completely try to wikify the articles with all respects, but I'll be more careful next time. Thanks for your help.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 02:43, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

But you're doing it in a way in which you create an unnecessary redirect. You can easily put the information on that, saves creating a whole other article. Rusted AutoParts 03:03, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

And to add a note here: With respects I deleted the original redirects because they were circular and looped back to themselves (See WP:CSD#G8 and WP:CSD#R2). I agree that we can have article on films that have not yet been released, but we require an incredible amount of persistant and enduring coverage under WP:GNG to overcome the cautioins at WP:NFF. Please feel free to build an article in a workspace at User:Captain Assassin!/sandbox/Transcendence (film) and check back with us at Project Film when you feel inclusion criteria is met. We would be happy to offer out advice and input... and when it is time to go to article space, we would be happy to support the article. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 22:26, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This is a good idea but the redirects were created by Rusted AutoParts, I was just creating and expanding the article he created the redirects. What would you say of that?-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 04:30, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
His message (right above your talkback message) led me to think the looped redirects were yours. Sorry if not so, and issue is now addressed. Where currently is the version of the film article you wrote? Getting close to mainspace time? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 06:14, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, I didn't create the redirects, they were his. I just moved the "Transcendence (film)" to "Transcendence (2014 film)" and then created the article on "Transcendence (film)" then he came and removed all the data from article and created the loop redirects.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 06:46, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. As it is unneccessary as a diambig in this instance, the "2014" in the title "Transcendence (2014 film)" likely spurred his actions. I was unaware that there was an article he overwrote, specially as he has often supported the creation of film articles before the film is filmed or released. Did you save the content? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 10:09, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I only created the first redirect, back in March before filming began. I did it because you can't create an article for a film not yet filming. I had it so it would be ready and available. What spurred me was the unecessary move of the article to a new redirect so you can make the same article. That's all. Rusted AutoParts 03:03, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I moved the article because I wanted to create it as a new stub, contents added by me. And the 2014 in the new title was because it is going to release in 2014 so the film article should have a redirect from its year title, that's why I moved the article and another reason is that the article will be in my articles counter. (@ MichaelQSchmid) Yes I have the contents, I will be pleased if you help me in the creation of article.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 13:22, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ive added your content into he redirect, so the situation has been resolved. Article created. Rusted AutoParts 17:35, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You know this is not a good way to create article, first you created the loop redirects of my article then made it removed and then created by yourself and then added the contents written by me, wow.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 01:30, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you're implying I did this for my personal gain, then no. Firstly, I had a redirect set up already. You then moved it to create another redirect for some reason. Anyway, what's done is done, do what you wish content wise, as long as we don't walk away in a negative way. Rusted AutoParts 1:58, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Guys... both of you... time to make this interest in the topic a net positive. The redirect issue is now water under the bridge.... spilt milk... what was done is done. The original content has been returned to the article using a correct namespace and a proper disambig. The issue that RAP was addressing with his original redirect was his interpretation of WP:NFF. He is incorrect to think that exceptions are never allowed. As the guideline is not the same stone as policy, exceptions DO exist (usually under WP:SPECULATION and as a result of consensus at AFD)... but they ARE rare. The new question becomes one of whether or not the topic has enough persistent and enduring coverage in reliable sources to meet WP:GNG, and that if it meets GNG, is the coverage of a film-in-preproduction enough for the production to merit being an possible and resonable exception to WP:NFF? I would not be the least bit surprised to see this at AFD. NOTE: We can avoid needless discussion if we agree to moving it to a userspace... or to incubation. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 02:19, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Alright MichaelQSchmidt, I'm agree with you this time. Thanks for your consideration.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 02:29, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2013 April newsletter[edit]

We are a week into Round 3, but it is off to a flying start, with Republic of Rose Island Sven Manguard (submissions) claiming for the high-importance Portal:Sports and Portal:Geography (which are the first portals ever awarded bonus points in the WikiCup) and Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions) claiming for a did you know of sea, the highest scoring individual did you know article ever submitted for the WikiCup. Round 2 saw very impressive scores at close; first place New South Wales Casliber (submissions) and second place Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) both scored over 1000 points; a feat not seen in Round 2 since 2010. This, in part, has been made possible by the change in the bonus points rules, but is also testament to the quality of the competition this year. Pool C and Pool G were most competitive, with three quarters of participants making it to Round 3, while Pool D was the least, with only the top two scorers making it through. The lowest qualifying score was 123, significantly higher than last year's 65, 2011's 41 or even 2010's 100.

The next issue of The Signpost is due to include a brief update on the current WikiCup, comparing it to previous years' competitions. This may be of interest to current WikiCup followers, and may help bring some more new faces into the community. We would also like to note that this round includes an extra competitor to the 32 advertised, who has been added to a random pool. This extra inclusion seems to have been the fairest way to deal with a small mistake made before the beginning of this round, but should not affect the competition in a large way. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please feel free to contact one of the judges.

A rules clarification: content promoted between rounds can be claimed in the round after the break, but not the round before. The case in point is content promoted on 29/30 April, which may be claimed in this round. Sorry For the Inconvinience[edit]

I know that so sorry if u ofended, as i am new to it! but i will be at ease soon, i wanna ask u a question can u correct the name of Hum awards page, i know i did it just mistakenly, i was about to correct it since when i changed it but nothing had happened, and please i have edit ur Artical with complete and fully source able page can u locked it or how can i locked it, because i wanna prevent it to further changes by people. if possible then please change the name it's a humble request to u, nothing is there to offend u, and i have no intentions to offend u at all as u may know. i am also one of wiki users and want to make it at home. so help me in little mistakes if u can. thanks (Cut from my user page added by Faizanali.007)

Hey Faizan, I know you are new to Wiki so be careful next time and feel free to ask me anything you want to know, I have already corrected the Hum Awards article and I've requested the Admin to rename Ist Hum Awards and 17th PTV Awards...mistakes happen in the beginning, so don't worry and never hesitate to ask anyone. An one other thing please never post messages again at user pages, always put them at user talk pages (e.g put messages at User talk:Captain Assassin! not at User:Captain Assassin!. Now you can reply below this message.). I hope you understand better and let me know if you need help, good luck next time.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! Response[edit]

Dude, you don't need to move the redirect to create the article. It leaves the idea that you did it to claim credit. Just write over the redirect. Much simpler. Rusted AutoParts 16:38, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

You are again making redirect loop now, I can create the article, I have rights and I'm working on it.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 16:46, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But not the right to create completely unnecessary redirects. I already had it made, you did not need to move it. Rusted AutoParts 16:48, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
But look, you didn't create the article, I created and I added the contents, so I can do whatever I want, I will report the admin this time, OK?-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 16:51, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What? Look at the edit history, man, the redirect I created existed before. You merely moved it. It's unfair to me this occurs because I constantly look like an asshole, but I'm trying so hard not to be. Why aren't you creating the article in the existing redirect? Rusted AutoParts 16:55, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
I don't care what you are trying to be, I just care that I worked, I added the contents so I can do to the article whatever I want, if this is wrong you should had already added the contents.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 17:00, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't add content o films not yet in production. Article is now up for deletion.[[User:Rusted AutoParts|Rusted AutoParts 17:04, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
I also don't add contents to those, but this film is under filming status so it can have article with full contents. Leave it this time now, you already did this to me last time.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 17:10, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I did I do this to you last time? Last time I checked, I already had the redirect created so editors Dan add the content there. No, you shoved it out of the way to create your's. I'm just taking back what I created.Rusted AutoParts 17:25, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am not at all disturbed. You can clearly see here [1] That I created the redirect back in February. Therefore I created the article. And it's not your content, it's Wikipedia's. WP:OWN prohibits what you're saying. Rusted AutoParts 17:14, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, you are not understanding what I'm trying here to say, I'm saying that I've redirected the article to create mine. It is because you just created an empty article and made redirect to its director, so I can do anything I want when the film is now filming.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 01:35, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're still wrong. It's not allowed to make a second article so you can do whatever you want. You take your content and paste it onto the already existent redirect, therefore starting the article. Wat you're doing is an inconvenience as there are unnecessary redirects you made in order to claim ownership. It undermines the work I do considering I had the article all set up as a redirect until such time production began. Then you come and do this a second time after Transcendence. Please in the future DO NOT MOVE THE ARTICLE SO YOU CAN CREATE A SECOND ONE. Here, I'll show you. you start by creating the redirect, linking it to something associated with the project. then over time as the film starts production, you add in content. see why I'm a bit peeved? Rusted AutoParts 3:40 10 May 2013 (UTC)
I'm wrong...? Ooooh my dear, you see you created just a redirect consider an empty article, so when I'm about to add content and the article's credit goes to you, that's something hurts me, but sorry for the last time. I'll be careful next time but if you should have add contents by yourself if you don't let it happen again or otherwise don't make the redirects. Thanks to you for wasting time with smack-head like me :-).-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:29, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't appreciate the sarcasm. Creating redirects ahead of production is quite common. Rusted AutoParts 13:2 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Yes it is common but I'll not cry like you when someone move my empty redirects to create his own articles. When someone wants to started his own article by adding his own contents in my redirects I'll allow him, crying editor :-).-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 13:38, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm detecting incivility. Care to go to WP:ANI and discuss why you're mocking me when I'm clearly making an attempt to move past this? Rusted AutoParts 15:34 11 May 2013 (UTC)
Ooh sorry, never mind it brother, I was just kidding, we are even now.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 01:33, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. What's past is past. Glad we can put this away. Rusted AutoParts 1:50 12 May 2013 (UTC)
Yeah sure.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 02:02, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Concerns[edit]

Seeing that you seem to be a fairly high profile Pakistani wikipedian, I would like to say that as a Pakistani I am genuinely appalled by the bad grammar and lack of neutrality on some articles related to our country, Pakistan. I would like to know what you can do, or are doing to ensure that standards improve. Un.autre.monde (talk) 14:56, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

May 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of theatrically released Lionsgate films may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

PTV National Award listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect PTV National Award. Since you had some involvement with the PTV National Award redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). BDD (talk) 23:34, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

I think you misunderstood. If you look at the edit history [2], it shows it's still at the same location. I only changed the year as it was pushed back to 2015. I didn't move it per say, more like renamed it. Rusted AutoParts 15:17, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by pushed back, if it was pushed back, then why did you create the 2014 again? I don't know anything, I'm just warning you this was your last time. You can do that if you are going to add content and to create a notable article.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 15:26, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What are you saying? I didn't take the article, I just renamed it as according to this [3] it's been pushed back. Like I said, I wasn't really moving the article, just renamed it. Don't panic, it's still yours. Rusted AutoParts 15:30, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I'm not being panic just telling and reminding you.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 15:36, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. Just helping out by putting in the new release year. Rusted AutoParts 15:38, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, by the way. See ya'.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 15:42, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Discovery Girls[edit]

Hi. I just updated the Discovery Girls page, which you had tagged as essay-like a few years ago. I'm rather new to wikipedia editing, and would appreciate any suggestions that you have for me. Thanks! DarianaT (talk) 20:51, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Interstellar[edit]

Hello, could you inform me why you are performing moves on the Interstellar (film) article? Per the MoS, the year isn't required because there is only one film named Interstellar. Prior to your activity, the page was in the correct place, and acted as a redirect to the correct section of the correct article. Now, it redirects to (2006 film), and you have created a separate page entitled (2014 film). There is only the one film, and the original setup was correct.  drewmunn  talk  13:27, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The film was started adaptation in 2006 so I moved it to (2006 film).-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 13:35, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's not how film dating works here, we use the year of release. However, no year is required because it is the only film entitled Interstellar. As such, the article should be at "Interstellar (film)". Would you be able to move it back?  drewmunn  talk  13:37, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I moved it back, you can check Interstellar (film).-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 13:42, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers. Would you be able to request Speedy Deletion on the 2006 and 2014 pages for it, so we don't end up with a serious mess? Thanks.  drewmunn  talk  13:47, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think 2014 redirect should be exist as film is going to be released in 2014, but 2006 can be deleted per your request.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 13:50, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. There's actually an ongoing discussion about date-based redirects at the Wikiproject Film page if you want to have some input.  drewmunn  talk  14:02, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

sayever.com[edit]

I don't believe sayever.com is a reliable source, nor an appropriate link. I noticed you added it here. I'm leaving it to you to decide what to do with it. --Ronz (talk) 17:13, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

But it contains a detail information about the actress as far as I know.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 17:16, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Your call, but it seems to fail WP:RS and so WP:BLP. --Ronz (talk) 17:36, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just a query[edit]

Don't you think you may be a bit trigger-happy with these redirects? It's good to be getting them, but making ones for How to Train Your Dragon 4 when there isn't even a 2nd yet or Noah 2, which is the story of Noah and may not even get a sequel is kind of crystalballing. To clarify, I have no issue with you making them, but I feel that redirects should only be made if there is the possibility of it happening (via director confirmation, studios hiring screenwriters for another, etc.).RAP (talk) 17:11 21 May 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure about How to Train Your Dragon 4 but I read in the news about Noah 2 somewhere, I don't remember the news website now.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 17:15, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Trolls 2?[edit]

What was the purpose of creating this redirect? The original isn't scheduled for release until 2016 and you're already redirecting 'Trolls 2' to it? --Onorem (talk) 02:07, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Because we are allow here to make redirects of upcoming and in-development project films. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 03:12, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Is it an upcoming and in-development project film? Citation? IMDB doesn't seem to have it listed. Troll 2 aka "Trolls 2" is the first result searching there. --Onorem (talk) 23:04, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I read it somewhere in the news that the Trolls will have a sequel so I created it.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 23:13, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre[edit]

Hello! Now, some of you might be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:
  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. If we don't get at least 5-10 recruiters to start off with, the Recruitment Centre will not open. If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".
  • Co-Director: The current Director for the centre is me (Dom497). Another user that would be willing to help with some of the tasks would be helpful. Tasks include making sure recruiters are doing what they should be (teaching!), making sure all recruitments are archived correctly, updating pages as needed, answering any questions, and distributing the feedback form. If interested, please contact me (Dom497).
  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Global Science magazine logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Global Science magazine logo.jpg.

Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 08:22, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sandra Bullock[edit]

Captain Assassin, first of all, this is the second time (as far as I know) that you removed/moved a large section without giving an edit summary. But an list of awards article shouldn't be just one table like in the person's article. It should be broken down by award. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, I'm just saying how it should be. --Musdan77 (talk) 19:30, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I know, I know, I just started the article, the other things you can do or I'll do later.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 03:09, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Film redirects[edit]

I've noticed that you've been creating redirects for films that have yet to enter production. In a few cases, they are redirecting to actors, yet the actor page has no information regarding the film in question. Please could you only create the redirect if information actually exists at the target. --Rob Sinden (talk) 11:26, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm noticed, I knew someone is gonna make issue about it too :). Yes I've created the redirects to only those which have actually real information, if you want me to prove anyone I can. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 11:32, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If the film is mentioned at the target page, then I see no problem, it's when there is nothing concrete at the target - Cleo (film) / Catherine Zeta Jones, etc. that I see a problem. Who's to say she will actually star in this film? WP:CRYSTAL is an issue here. --Rob Sinden (talk) 11:35, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've started a discussion at the film project page. --Rob Sinden (talk) 11:56, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see you've done it again with R'ha. Please only create a redirect if there is good sourced information regarding the film at the target. --Rob Sinden (talk) 08:05, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Now it's redirect to the target with reliable source, is there any prob now?-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:16, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'd prefer to see more information (per discussion: "There must be enough coverage of a planned film so that the redirect target can itself contain enough information to inform our readers of the redirected topic"), and maybe it would be better directed to Kaleb Lechowski or Matthew Graham, but it's better that nothing. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:24, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, maybe the short would meet notability guidelines and could have an article itself.[4] --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:27, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK thanks, I understand now better, next time I'll make it more appropriate and well informed. So should I create the short?-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:30, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've just created a stub at R'ha. I think it just about meets notability guidelines because of the volume of coverage, but if someone deletes it, I won't be surprised! Maybe you can improve it... --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:37, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

For other redirects, would suggest that if you do create them, please ensure that there is good sourced information at the target before creating them. Would suggest redirecting first of all to the source material (book, play, etc.), then director if one is attached, then writer, and only producer in rare circumstances. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:45, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good, I'm adding something to it, see what'll happen. And now I'm understood about the redirects, I'm trying to follow the guidelines now, thanks.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:48, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're still doing it with Adrenaline (film) and Echo Station!!! Please only redirect if there is already GOOD, SOURCED material at the target. And please make the first possible target the source material if available. I've redirected Predestination (film) to "—All You Zombies—"#Film adaptation for this reason. --Rob Sinden (talk) 11:47, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oouch sorry again, but I think redirect to the director can work without source material.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 11:49, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If there is an article with the source material (book, short story, etc.) we should use that. If there isn't, then we can go with the director, writer, etc., if appropriate, but source material first. --Rob Sinden (talk) 11:53, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I know but give me a relaxation sometime on that :-).-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 11:59, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it's just a matter of checking to see if something already exists. If it's an adaptation of something, then redirect to whatever it's an adaptation of. Likewise if it's a sequel or remake... --Rob Sinden (talk) 12:07, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're still doing it!!!. Please stop. Seriously. Also, please stop moving redirects around, this messes with the history. Also, we don't use "movie" as a disambiguator. Please stop creating all these unnecessary redirects. --Rob Sinden (talk) 08:25, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm just redirecting the the films to directors now, they are attached to the films.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:07, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's not true. Look at Stereotypically You (and this is just one of many examples). You've redirected that to Beth Behrs, an actress, and there is NO information at the target. You've agreed to stop a couple of times, and yet still you persist. Your time on Wikipedia could be spent a lot more productively (as could mine!). Once again - only create a redirect if there is already existing, sourced information at the target. Otherwise, we'll have to get this looked at by administrators. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:11, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Alright alright, I'm trying to do something here, I'm going to put some resources there, just give me some time, will you? -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:17, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Make sure that there is sourced information at the target first. And make sure that it is good sourced information, not rumours. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:19, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Got it, give me sometime now, undo all the CSDs please.-- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:21, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, the CSDs should stay unless there is reliable sourced information at the target. I'm not sure why you're in such a hurry to create all these redirects - they don't serving any useful purpose yet, especially the ones with additional pre-emptive disambiguation. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:25, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'll put some sources there, others should be deleted, agreed. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:30, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And this doesn't count as adding reliable sourced information. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:31, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Timmy G has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Future film redirects[edit]

Please see WT:WikiProject Film#Creating redirects FOR future films. Redirects from future films to the director's or star's article are not appropriate until there is enough sourced information to say something in the target article. Otherwise it is just confusing for the reader, and also fails WP:V. If and when you can add sourced information about the film to the director's article, by all means recreate the redirects. JohnCD (talk) 13:38, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I get it sir, thanks to all for this help. -- Assassin! No, Captain Assassin! ( T - C - G ) 09:01, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Future film redirects again[edit]

This is important: Wikipedia does not do rumours. An encyclopedia is not like the fan-sites where everyone competes to get the latest gossip up first. Read WP:Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, and read WP:Reliable sources as well, (and WP:HAMMER which is about the similar future-album-rumour articles we get all the time.)

Redirects that do not lead to useful information do not help the reader, they only confuse. If you continue to post future-film redirects that are not based on reliable information, you may be blocked from editing. The point of WP:NFF is that things often go wrong between plan and actual implementation. It is much more useful to find reliable information about the film world and use that to update the encyclopedia than to hurry to be first with the latest. You can probably get advice at WP:WikiProject Film about useful areas to work. JohnCD (talk) 09:48, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on QMobile requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Better Living Through Chemistry (film) redirect to Ray Liotta[edit]

A tag has been placed on User talk:Captain Assassin!, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Liotta is one of the film's stars (not the Lead), but the redirect makes no sense at all, as separate film articles are created

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Hey Captain Assassin!

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.
