External links guidelines[edit]

After checking the history of External links, it appears that the guidelines were changed very recently; your quote on Talk:Piano tuning I think was correct at the time. (I don't really agree with the change either.) - Rainwarrior 19:55, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I figured that out after I posted my edit to Talk:Piano tuning. The External links article used to refer to "objectionable advertising." I almost went back to the Talk page and explained that, but at the last minute decided to wait. I'll wait to see if the topic comes up again. I have a feeling it will... -- Carboncopy 20:04, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I put a post on the external links page asking for information about the change to the guidelines. It looks like we both reverted the same edit to Care and maintenance of pianos. The fact that they are the same group of links in dispute at the other page is suspicious. Also LONGTIMERPT's edit message "this too has been discussed" seems not to refer to discussion on the piano tuning talk page but to a question my2cents asked on Antandrus' talk page. The list of users whose only contributions have been to this particular issue is growing in a rather conspicuous way. - Rainwarrior 20:36, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Funny you should mention that. If I were a suspicious person, I'd wonder if there is a little cabal (if there is indeed more than one user) concerned about the release of privileged information to the layity. The continued attacks on a homespun tuning website, and the insistance on linking to professional schools, organizations and suppliers do give one pause.Carboncopy 20:51, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Why did you delete this question? --62.134.230.38 14:32, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! It sounded to me like it was not a serious question. If it was serious, I apologize. Feel free to reinstate it, and I will leave it alone. If you are suggesting that some one should add this information to the main article, then please say it that way. Better yet, research the answer and add your information to the article. (I also recommend that you sign up for an account to get a user name. Makes mistakes like this less likely.) Carboncopy 17:14, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thank you and sorry - my fault. I expressed it the wrong way. --62.134.177.228 20:46, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
