Please be careful with the tone of your additions. You should not add that a newspaper support "local boosterism" - don't they all? Most newspapers have a monopoly in their city if the city is less than a half million people, so why add that negativity? Royalbroil 14:21, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia needs to be based on facts written by reliable independent sources. You cannot take your opinion with reading the newspaper and put your point of view in the newspaper in its Wikipedia article. Re adding challenged content without providing an independent source that states it unacceptable and will get you in trouble with the 3 revert rule. Removing libel is immune to the 3 revert rule. The burden of proof is placed on the person who adds the content. Wikipedia was severely criticized by the media back when we used to allow unsourced content and opinions enter the articles. Wikipedia is a lot better after strict wording was required. So you need to find an independent reliable source that says that they cater to local boosterism (for example) before you can readd. You need to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's original research policy. On Wikipedia, a policy is written in stone and must be followed to the letter. Besides adding information which is unsourced and not found in independent sources, you are doing synthesis. Synthesis occurs when an editor puts together multiple sources to reach a conclusion. December 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Railfan, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. anoraknophobis has its own website page - albeit for the album of the same name. Some railfans (of which I am one) do seem to have had their sense of humour surgically removed - which is sad.--Cassandra1953 (talk) 22:59, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please add only referenced information from reliable sources. Sense of humour should be left at the door when editing articles. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 08:12, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
