Article on Fernand Lopez and MMA Factory

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fernand_Lopez
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMA_Factory

Hi. Got two articles submitted for your review. Both come in light of Francis Ngannou becoming HW champ.

The first is about his coach, Fernand Lopez. Although Lopez was a fighter, his main notability comes from his coaching career. He established MMA factory, the biggest MMA gym in France. He is also known for being the former Coach of Francis Ngannou and the current coach of Ciryl Gane.

The second is about MMA factory itself. Its the biggest gym in France which has both produced and continue to train notable fighters.

Imcdc (talk) 18:42, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

Imcdc Hi, MMA_Factory has been reviewed by other reviewer. As for Fernand Lopez I have moved the page to draft space - see Draft:Fernand Lopez as there are about 70 of the content violet the copy right violation (copyvio) - see here. Also, the page is no quite pass notabaility guidelines as even thought there are many source, but those source either just mention the subject in passing mention or it is not independent (from interview which the info is derived from the subject himself). What you could do is (1) write the copyvio section in your own words and secondly try to find 3 sources which is independent and reliable from France articles, or any European mma press sites such as MMAnytt (Nordic countries), MMA viking (Nordic countries), https://mma.pl/ MMA pl (polish)], MMAdna (Dutch), Globe MMA, Le Monde or any French/European newspaper such as La Voix du Nord (fr), mma4fight (fr), mma sun, Mouv (fr), france fight (fr) and etc for I believe there would be some article about him. I did a quick search, and see below if any of the sources are good to use (the sources are in different languages, so you need to click translate in your browser)

New Article

Hey, no UFC event this week, but was wondering if you could review this page I created.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellator_MMA_Rankings

All the best. HeinzMaster (talk) 03:31, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

HeinzMaster  Done. I have added 5-6 independent, reliable sources (IRS) as an article needs at least 5-7 IRS to meet the notability guidelines. Thank you for your contribution. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 06:17, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

New Fighters

Hey, I just got two fighters that are eligible for notability.

All the best, HeinzMaster (talk) 20:31, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

HeinzMaster  Done and thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 22:09, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

CUVA

I too would like to become a rollbacker since I often edit articles with a high vandalism rate (eg: Abiy Ahmed). Unfortunately I am rarely in your time zone - but then I don't see any available trainers at Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism_Unit/Academy that are. Thanks in advance for your consideration of my application ! BushelCandle (talk) 02:00, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

BushelCandle Hi Good day. Your talk page indicates you are "semi retired" and hardly many make edits since late 2019, and yet you are here to request joining CUVA program. May I know your reasons of your request please. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 02:09, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for your quick response.
Yes, I had to quit both paid and self-employment due to ill-health (I still do a small amount of voluntary and professional pro-bono work). https://xtools.wmflabs.org/ec/en.wikipedia.org/BushelCandle certainly shows the effects of that ill-health on my editing last year - but it also shows 400 edits in the first 3 months of this year. After my upcoming surgery next week, I would hope to be more active in the weeks to come... BushelCandle (talk) 03:00, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
BushelCandle Thank you for your response. I am sorry to hear that you are in poor health and I presume your work is in the legal industry. Editors who work on counter vandalism usually are those who would have an intention and stay editing Wikipedia for a long time. Secondly, to do counter vandalism work, at times, it could be stressful for some of the vandalized editors would be upset and troll the counter vandalism editors when they receive warning messages on their talk page. Since you have been editing Wikipedia for 6 years, I believe you will continue to do so, however, you might want to considered the stress element which I mentioned when you doing a lot of the vandalism edits which it might affect your health if you find it difficult to keep your cool. Most of the participants would take about 2 months to complete the program for there are a lot of reading and assignment work but they would do it on the own pace. Questions can be raised at anytime during the program. Let me know your decision of the above info/concern I have addressed, and if you think you still want to go throught the program, then maybe we start after your surgery. Let me know. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 03:50, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your considered and very considerate reply.
I note your well-taken points - especially about stress.
While I can not undertake to be nearly as prolific an editor as yourself in the future, I don't think that a bit of guided self-education would come amiss. The plain fact is that I will be continuing to revert a small proportion of the edits I come across in the articles I have on my watchlist and I hope that my better knowing the relevant policies, techniques and templates will not cause me to be more damaging in this task. If my health allows, I intend to remain a long-term contributor and member in good standing of the Wikimedia communities.
May I alert you again in this sub-section when I am recovered from my upcoming operation and ready to learn at your guidance? BushelCandle (talk) 04:39, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
BushelCandle Ok. All the best with your surgery and pop back here when you are ready to start the program. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 04:45, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
My (inadvertently created) boastful user page before requested deletion

Following your advice to Dr Salvus above, I think I've finished the WP:TWA tutorial now and, despite editing on Wikipedia since before May 2006, I still learned a few things. [ Incidentally, one thing that might be corrected with that tutorial is the way it creates a brand new User Page even if the student desperately does not want one! A better method might be to create a sub-page for the display of all those badges - perhaps at User:Student-name-here/About Me ? ] BushelCandle (talk) 00:22, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

BushelCandle Thank you for informing of the above and I am gland you found it useful and have learnt something from the TWA program. You can create a sub page or subpages to house those badges, banstars or anything that is related to Wikipedia info/links which you might find them handy at times to search for them. Stay safe and wish you well on your surgery. I see you back here soon. Best. Cassiopeia(talk) 01:24, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
I've actually had the page User:BushelCandle/About Me for quite a while, but now my requested deletion of my User Page has been actioned, I can't seem to find those badges depicted in my screenshot anywhere - even though I've searched diligently at Wikipedia:Awards by WikiProject. Do you (or anyone else) know where they are to be found? BushelCandle (talk) 03:55, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
BushelCandle TWA badges are placed automatically by the system on your user page once you have finished the modules/ program Which is separated from you contribution log. Since you have requested your user page to be deleted, so is your user page history page. There is no much different having a sub page and user page and usually editors having adding sub user pages is because they want to organize/separate certain things/info instead put all info in one page for they might be too lengthy. You can as for WP:REFUND for your user page by the actioned admin to retrieve the info and you can redirect your user page to your talk page if you want. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 04:24, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
I'm sorry for not writing more clearly; I understand that those TWA badges were successively and automatically placed on my (now deleted at my own request) User page as I worked through the TWA tutorial and completed each module. I also understand that I might have acted more wisely and copied those badges' image files (and the code for their placement) to User:BushelCandle/About Me before I successfully requested that my User page be deleted.
However, there must be image files for those individual TWA badges reposing somewhere on Wikipedia (or another Wikimedia repository) and I'm asking if anyone knows where they might be lurking... BushelCandle (talk) 05:54, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
BushelCandle: I think you are talking about this - one of the examples. If so then you can add them - see here on your subpage and do provide link (hist diff) where you earned those badges. Let me know if that the above is not what you looking for. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 06:03, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
Spot on!
Thanks a lot ! BushelCandle (talk) 06:43, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

At the risk of coming across a bit rude; but really, your "pls get consensus" reverts are unhelpful. Most things don't require consensus before being implemented - otherwise we'd be stuck endlessly discussing everything from the most minor grammatical correction and up on talk pages. WP:BOLD applies, and there's no reason to revert uncontroversial changes, especially not things such as changing See also [[WP:CRIN]] to {{further|WP:CRIN}} or other similar things. See also Wikipedia:Revert only when necessary - if most of an edit is good but there's a small part you disagree, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Fix the broken part, and move on. Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 21:09, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

RandomCanadian Some content on the article would be suitable for BOLD but for Wikipedia notability guidelines, it would be best to have consensus as you have notice in the talk page as you are one of the active participants. To suggest to get consensus is not rude by the way but a asking for a agreeable changes is normal normal processes for Wikipedia page and state again especially notability page. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 21:30, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
Except layout fixes and technical stuff like that (to repeat the example: changing See also [[WP:CRIN]] to {{further|WP:CRIN}}); especially when it's a non-substantive change to the guideline in question, doesn't really require consensus. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 21:33, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
RandomCanadian We have different views and different views are not considered rude. Btw your edit has been reverted by another editor who didnt share your view. Cassiopeia(talk) 22:09, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

Wikidata weekly summary #462

Could you train me on the WP:CVUA?

I would like to become a rollbacker. Can you teach me how to become one? Remember that I am not a native speaker and may not understand complex terms. Dr Salvus 12:32, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

Although I took the Wikibreak I would like to graduate from WP: CVUA Dr Salvus 23:18, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
Dr Salvus Buona giornata. Thank you for the message above and your interest in joining the CUVA program. I also understand English is not your first language and sorry to know that you have experienced a lot of complaints from other editors where you edits are considered disruptive and lack of Wikipedia:Competence is required and because of that you are in distress in editing Wikipedia. You have received a fair amount of advice of your edits and I have noticed you have taken them seriously. To say all that, the issue here is that your lack of understanding of Wikipedia guidelines (a lot of them).
We are all new editors once before and I am no exception. I understand the difficulty and the amount of reading an editor need to understand the basic Wikipedia guidelines. However, slowly and surely, we all get to where we wanted by editing only the area we have knowledge of and also adhere to Wikipedia guidelines. What I notice is that even thought you taken on the advice of other editors and admin, so how you still continue the same behavior unknowingly. Many of your advisers have commented you to edit only the area you are familiar with and yet you request to join the CUVA program instead of familiar yourself with the fundamental guidelines and observe the norm/how other experience editors edit the articles. Secondly, any editor can do the counter vandalism work with a rollback right, and it is not the right attitude to join CUVA just because you want the rollback right. Editors who join the CUVA is because they want to fight vandalism in English Wikipedia and they also are those editors who intent edit Wikipedia for many years to come. In addition, to do counter vandalism work is very stress task. Many editors would get very angry when they see their edits have been reverted which they would demand explanation and get extremely furious toward the counter vandalism editors who placed the warning messages in the talk page. They will send troll messages to the counter vandalism editors with all sort of foul languages (rude/ offensive/ swearing), threaten physical harm and lawsuit and I have received such messages before. For such I dont think you are ready to join the program at this stage of your editing background. However, I can do 2 part program for you where by you go throug the program doing the assignment without "actually" revert/sending messages or interact with the vandalized editors but identifying the vandalism/disruptive edits first, then if you do well, then we could go to the actual - part 2 program.
My advice to you is that, (1) very important - Read the Wikipedia guidelines (I used to spend hours each night reading Wikipedia guidelines when I started editing and it took me many months to familiar some basic guidelines), (2) make small edits on something every simple (3) observe how other experience editors edit the page by looking at the history page of the article. (4) Asking questions or help from WP:TH anything due to "editing" or experienced editors of a certain specific subject/topic before making any editing. (5) get yourself a "mentor" (6) very important - stay away from areas which need advance Wikipedia guidelines knowledge. (7) Take your time as Wikipedia is always here.
I suggest you to take up Wp:TWA program to familiar yourself with some basic Wikipedia guidelines for a start. Let me know if anything else I could help. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 02:10, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
All right. I intend to do the 2 part programs you proposed to me. Later I will try to study the feedback I received and the rules of Wikipedia Dr Salvus 07:18, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Dr Salvus the 2 part program do come with reading materials by the way. I understand you are not a new editor, but I need to you to throught WP:TWA program first, so I would know that you have the understanding of the basic Wikipedia guidelines. Once you have done that, then pls pop back there and let me know. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 07:34, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
WP: TWA is not working well Dr Salvus 08:18, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Dr Salvus Make sure you use landline instead of using mobile. Also, start with Mission 1 first. If you still encounter issues, then take a rest and go back to link. It takes about an hours to complete for most editors. Cassiopeia(talk) 08:27, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
I have finished successfully. I feel ready for the part 2 program Dr Salvus 09:22, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Dr Salvus You have only finished a small part of the program and not all of them. Pls go back and work on the program and take you time. Read the instructions and info provided. Dont rush. Understand the guidelines and how to apply them is the key. Cassiopeia(talk) 09:37, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Unfortunately it is not working well with me but I have carried out all the tests Dr Salvus 09:39, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Dr Salvus No, you haven't finished all the missions (parts) of the program. If you have finished the program, we would have a record of them but we have only a small part of what you have finished.09:42, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Yaar just lemme take part in the CVUA program. TWA is not working well for me, I really wanna learn more about reverting vandalism and of course my main goal is to get the rollback rights and be the best rollbacker in this community. I don’t wanna disobey you but I’m just not enjoying the idiotic TWA program and it isn’t working well so pls let me participate in the anti vandalism course ffs. 223.191.33.85 (talk) 14:23, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Dr Salvus I am not sure the above ip 223.191.33.85 is you and also the IP address comes from India and you stated your current location is in Italy in your user page. Pls make sure you are logged in when you edit Wikipedia. Secondly, all participants that I have dealt with who I have request to take up the TWA program, all have gone through them except one who used mobile as to do all the edits did encounter some problems. You issues is not about counter vandalism or gaining rollback right but to understand Wikipedia guidelines and how to apply them and TWA would provide you the opportunity to understand some of the fundamental guidelines which I think would be helpful to you, even thought the program is designed young ppl in mind and not grown up mature adults per se. I have taken the program when I started editing Wikipedia years ago and I have learnt a lot and I believe you will too. Lastly, the purpose to participate in counter vandalism program is not to gain rollback right and editors don need rollback to do the counter vandalism work. The purpose to join CUVA is to help counter vandalism work in English Wikipedia and it you just want to have rollback right then I dont think this program is suitable for you. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 01:03, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
After doing mission 5 I can't longer continue. 223.191.33.85 isn't my IP adress. Dr Salvus 12:37, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
I have failed many interventions against vandalism, for example here. I'd glady to stop making these mistakes. Attending the WP: CVUA would help me to solve this problem? Dr Salvus 11:49, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

SO JUST LEMME PARTICIPATE IN THE CUVA PROGRAN.223.223.141.249 (talk) 09:29, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

NPP Mentoring

Hello Cassiopeia, I’m wondering if you would be interested in mentoring me for NPP school. I’m working towards building these skills not just to address the AfC/drafts backlog but also to be able to teach and mentor. (So, I’m quite interested in your successful teaching approach.) Over the last year, I’ve tried to explore and contribute to a wide range of page types and engage experienced editors for clarification and advice; recently, I’ve also begun to make minor suggestions for improvements outside of content editing. Regards, Zatsugaku (talk) 15:34, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Zatsugaku thank you for interested in the NPP program. NPP patroller/reviewer review new page and not draft space. Cassiopeia(talk) 08:30, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
I apologize for my lack of clarity; I do mean new pages. I was merely trying to also recognize the prospective work arising from new pages that reviewers decide meet the criteria for being moved to draft space. My supposition is that many such pages are improved and then reappear for NPP. (I was reading through the NPP and noted New pages patrol#Drafts, but I have no insight as to how often such moves and re-reviews happen.) Zatsugaku (talk) 21:11, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

Zatsugaku Good day. WP:NPPSCHOOL program is a comprehensive program which requires the participant to spend time to read provided material (WP pages) and do the assignments. The project consists of 3 parts with 10 assignments and 1 final exam. It covers notability, sources, tagging, wiki project, subsort, wiki content policies, CSD, PROPS, AfD, communication, review and much more topics. Participant usually takes 2-3 months to complete the program (it depends how much time you spend on the program). Many participant abandoned the program due to the find they need to spend more time on the assignments/reading material as they anticipate but I dont think you would have any problem at all since you are a writer and a researcher and reading some material and doing assignment would be easy for you. Once you have complete the program, you would equip with the knowledge to review new pages. Each participant work on the assignment at their own pace and most of them take about 2-3 months to complete it. If you have some personal commitment and need to take more than 7-10 days to work on the assignment, then just simply let me know. Let me know if you are still interest to join the program after reading the info above. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 07:59, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
Thank you. Yes, those expectations and time frame sound completely reasonable. There is certainly a vast amount of content to cover and to learn to apply contextually. I’ll look forward to completing the program promptly.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Zatsugaku (talkcontribs) 22:57, April 8, 2021 (UTC)
Zatsugaku There is no time frame for the program as each editor works on their own pace. The above info is what most participants would take to finsih the program for some some would take lesser time but most would take months to complete. I have set up the program for you and welcome to NPPSCHOOL. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 22:50, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

NPP Training

Hello Cassiopeia i was just wanting to ask if you still have a student slot open, and if i could fill that open slot!! FentonEditor (talk) 17:51, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

FentonEditor Good day and thank you for interested in joining NPPS program. The program requires the participate to have at least 500 main space edit (preferable 1000+) edits. You current total edits is 18 and main space edit is 8. Do come back when you meet the requirement if you still want to participate and at the mean time I suggest you to take WP:TWA program first for it will help you to understand some fundamental Wikipedia guidelines. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 00:58, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

CVU/A

Hi Cassiopeia! I was wondering if you would be available to train me for CVUA, as I want to go through it even though I already (mostly) revert vandalism. Let me know if you can! My time zone is HAST or UTC-10:00. Thanks! xRENEGADEx (talk | contribs) 03:07, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

XRENEGADEx Good day. Thank you for interested in participate in CVUA program. CVUA program is for editors who are active and would to work on counter vandalism work in English Wikipedia for a long while. Your total edits from July 2020 to March 2021 is 18 which means you are not an active editor in the past and hope you have the intention to be a little for active as you have done in April 2021. The program do require a lot of reading and working on the assignments. So do expect to spend time to do the above if you want to participate the program for a lot of editors would abandons the program where by they do not anticipate the amount of time needed even they have been informed prior. Secondly, pls complete WP:TWA for you to understand some of the basic fundamental Wikipedia guidelines. (note: you have only done a very small portion of TWA in 2019). Once you have done that and you still want to join the program, then pop back here. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 04:42, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
Cassiopeia  Done I'm planning to be more active on Wikipedia, but I took a looong wikibreak during the times you stated for personal reasons. I finished TWA, so I think I'm good now. xRENEGADEx (talk | contribs) 03:04, 11 April 2021 (UTC)

For it is early morning for me here and I will stay for another hour or so to get the above pages review before head to bed. Let me know. Cassiopeia(talk) 16:45, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

HeinzMaster  Done review. I usually update the POTN & FOTN on [[List of UFC events[edit source]], 2021 in UFC List of UFC bonus award recipients as well. If you can or want to help, that would be great. Enjoy the fights and tt is a good day for the European mmas fan today but for me it is almost 4am here. Good night/good morning. Thank you. Cassiopeia Filled out all the Fight bonuses on the individual fighter pages, updated records on the list of ufc fighters, and I was about to fill out the bonus info on the List of UFC bonus award recipients, but I see that you did that. I filled in the info on the 2021 in UFC page tho. Hope you had a good sleep. HeinzMaster (talk) 01:34, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
HeinzMaster Thank you very much. Bonuses info on List of UFC bonus award recipients was updated by user:BEDofRAZORS666 and not me. I just reviewed Joe Solecki page which I missed previously, too sleepy I guess. Had a good sleep as the black cat in the house kept me warm. Thank you very much for the help. Appreciate it and enjoy the collaboration the work with you. Have a good weekend. Cassiopeia(talk) 02:54, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
