Hi! I'm glad you're interested in helping out around Wikipedia. You've asked a pretty good question. I would say that it's OK for the band to have its own article, since according to WP:MUSIC, side projects of band members from notable bands are usually notable. If that makes sense. Now, whether it's a good article is open to debate. I would say it could definitely be expanded. Reviews of the album they released, interviews with the band, etc. Right now, though, it's right on the borderline (between merging or having its own article) and arguments could be made either way.
