Speedy deletion of Babelgum Online Film Festival[edit]

A tag has been placed on Babelgum Online Film Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Speedy deletion[edit]

At the time I deleted it, the page just had a couple of links with no context as to what those links were. That meets Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion. Since it's been re-created, I see that it includes references, assertions of notability, etc. It no longer meets the speedy deletion criteria.

For future reference, I'd suggest that when you create articles you begin with an assertion of notability ("...is the first online film festival" is a good one), or at least complete sentences. Thanks for the explanations, it's the first page I've created and I was following the guidelines for "your first article" which I understood to mean I should first put in the references before writing any content? Well, I'll carry on working on it and hopefully bring it up to scratch :)

Nope - references should go in there to support content. Ideally, this means they should go in at the same time. But if we see an article that's just a couple of weblinks, we'll conclude it's nonsense and delete it. But, as I said, you're on the right track now. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Babelgum Logo.png)[edit]

However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thanks for uploading File:Babelgum Logo2009.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
