Well spotted! It's clear that they are one and the same person, so I've performed a merge. You'll note that I have given him a date of birth of 1881, rather than 1880 as the E. G. Martin article stated before the merge. That's simply because there are multiple solid sources for 1881 (Cricinfo, CricketArchive and Wisden) whereas no source was given for 1880. Thus, 1881 takes precedence.

Actually, that does bring up a major problem: the non-cricketing section of the bio is completely unreferenced, which is not at all satisfactory, and puts that material at risk of deletion at any time. This needs to be rectified very urgently, but as I know nothing about Martin's non-cricketing career I can't do anything about that. Thank you. It is always extremely useful to have a specific book to list in the References section, so your providing that has been most welcome. As a result, I've been able to tone down the box requesting references to one requesting inline citations (ie where in the book each particular fact is mentioned). However, having the book there in the first place is the most important step, and probably safeguards the material you added from deletion. Loganberry (Talk) 17:07, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
