Jilly vs Chili[edit]

Can you please stop removing the other title from the Green Naugahyde track list? You may be right, but you need to have a definitive source to confirm it, and I'm afraid a stolen setlist doesn't count. Thanks. --Monkeynutbar (talk) 03:58, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are you an admin or something? What right do you have to tell me a setlist given to a fan by Claypools sound guy Derek is not definitive enough? It's a hell of a lot more definitive than "google hits". It came from the band.Cheesesailor (talk) 07:53, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry I offended you, but really, a setlist is just a piece of paper, and it could have come from anywhere. That's not proof of anything, because random fans on the Bull Board are not reliable sources. Also, my comment about Google hits was about the addition of some guy adding his own ^hilarious^ fake titles. Of course, Google is not a definitive source on its own, but you can use Google to look for sources, and no hits = no sources = probably crap. But if that guy wrote it on a piece of paper and claimed it came from the band, would you have trusted him, too? --Monkeynutbar (talk) 23:38, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mate...[edit]

I'm not going to argue with you about it, as it's a moot point now anyway.

All I'll say is that the setlist I referred to was not from a "random Bullboard fan" it was from someone I have known for a few years and it was one of a number of setlists that had the same track title.

If you are any sort of Claypool/Primus fan you would know that Les draws on nearly all of his setlists and has a distinctive style.

Here is an example: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Claypool_setlist.jpg

I got the above setlist at Claypools Sydney show, where they were taken off the floor and handed out by Les' bass tech Derek right after the show.

The setlists I referred to had the same style of drawings on them and obviously came from Primus shows, even if I didn't believe the people that posted the images.Cheesesailor (talk) 02:23, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm just playing devil's advocate.
Okay, so you know them personally, and you know that setlist is legit, but the rest of us only have your word for it, and I'm afraid you do fall squarely into the category of "random fan on the internet", as do I, as does practically everyone else. That's why we need reliable sources. Put yourself in the position of someone who doesn't know anything about the subject, they read something and want to know where the info comes from, and just saying "some random guy said he knows some other guy who said he got it from a setlist that he said he got at a gig" doesn't hold up.
And yes, of course I know about Claypool drawing on setlists, but I don't think it'd be impossible someone to replicate his style. There are probably hundreds of Primus fans whose school books are covered in doodles that look just like his. Regardless of whether you or I think it proves that the setlist is legit, if it hasn't been published by a reliable source, it can't be relied upon. --Monkeynutbar (talk) 15:26, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
