Following the pattern
...of another faculty member who edits, I have identified myself at one of the IP addresses from which (as of April 2017, as these change) I will sometime edit. I will try to do the same, from the public spaces of my offices, the railway platforms, my health club, etc. (other spaces where I may be found editing, when I have been logged out, see above). You had mentioned here, and elsewhere, that there a sockpuppet investigation. Please be so kind, if there is one, please post, here—where is it? - I don't believe that I have referred to any sockpuppet investigation. I assume there is confusion about my use of the {{IPsock}} template. After a bit of a search, I think the template {{IP address}} would be less confusing and more consistent with my intention. I have swapped the templates out. Sodium Iodide
Sir, I completely disagree with you thinking that my sources are illegitimate. I have read the Wiki page about sourcing. The book I have cited and the Health Wyze site are bith reputable sourcing for accurate information related to health and disease. The content I added absolutely has everything to do with sodium iodide. In fact the one sentence that you left has to do with potassium iodide, not sodium iodide. This was an additive to prevent the swelling of the thyroid. in the book I cited it explains all of that. Your wiki page has no information related to health about sodium iodide or its contribution to reduce deficiency, because it doesn't. There are other sources of iodide that are much better for you to get, and we lose iodide in potable water by adding fluoride and chloride into potable water. that chemical ion exchange equation is listed literally in the next section. I suggest we take this issue higher up and get this content into the article. I am open to rewording the things that I added, but the bottom line is they need to be added to that page, even under a different section. Thank you for your time. Medical claims, primary sources and Cannabigerol
Hi ChemNerd, thank you for your comments in January regarding medical claims and primary research on the Cannabigerol page. I am fairly new to this Wiki editing business so apologies for the errors! I have now read up on the policies and guidelines and I think I better understand the concerns. I have had a go at editing the Cannabigerol page to try to address your concern by eliminating medical claims but instead have a section on Research that summarizes some interesting and relevant studies. And I have also eliminated a low quality source that was flagged up and used only high quality sources. Let me know if you think that this approach can work or how we could preserve a lot of this good info whilst remaining within policy! - It is my opinion that the article still relies too much on primary sources rather than high quality secondary sources such as review articles. Ethylene / Cycloethane
I posted a fair-and-balanced edit to the wiki article Ethylene about the the rare term "cycloethane" which you almost immediately deleted because of un-popularity? I agree this term isn't "mainstream", but it has both pedagogical and mathematical significance. I did not just make this stuff up... my edit to the article "Ethylene" includes verifiable resources. Sure, the "cyloethane" view may not be "popular", but it is has significance in computational chemistry (and other fields), and I humbly request that you keep an open mind. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hydradix (talk • contribs) 17:31, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- I didn't say that you made it up. It's just this trivial pedagogical issue regarding a never-used potential synonym is entirely irrelevant to an encyclopedia article about ethylene. And the terminology has no significance in computational chemistry or any mathematical significance. Maybe it's worth mentioning at cyclic compound that geometry dictates that a ring must contain at least three atoms, but even that's a just a bit of trivia. ChemNerd (talk) 17:44, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
