Orphaned non-free media (File:Blue Gold- World Water Wars - DVD COVER.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Blue Gold- World Water Wars - DVD COVER.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:11, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources and links[edit]

I see you've added a material sourced to Isgp.eu. That is a self-published website and does not qualify as a reliable source, or even as a suitable external link. Please be careful to comply with WP:RS and WP:EL when adding content.   Will Beback  talk  22:29, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Money as debt, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.moneyasdebt.net. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. October 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Robert Kagan appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. RayTalk 01:22, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added such as to the page Hermann Scheer do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLHBFyfvK8A (matching the regex rule \byoutube\.com). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. File source problem with File:The_Sun_Election_day_cameron_obama_may_6th_2010.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:The_Sun_Election_day_cameron_obama_may_6th_2010.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:28, 7 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 10:28, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article: Callum McCarthy - question[edit]

Hi there, I believe you've created the page for Sir Callum McCarthy in November 2007. I've been wondering whether there is a chance you could upload his picture? It would also be grand if you could code the small box out that highlights the person's key information so that the page looks better. Let me know if this is too much to ask and I won't bother you anymore. I work for the newly-launched Castle Trust, UK mortgage and investment company, where Sir Callum McCarthy is the Non-executive Chairman. Hence, I can't do the edits myself as I respect the Wikipedia rules. Well, let me know. Thanks a lot Kt1502 (talk) 16:56, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Ideal moment[edit]

The article Ideal moment has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources or indication of importance.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 3gg5amp1e (talk) 16:43, 30 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Plugs[edit]

Plugging a gap in Wikipedia
Hi,

Hi,

I looked at the 'dire' Wikipedia page on sink plugs. This is because I tried to get a replacement plug for my sink (circa 1920s). So I measured the aperture diameter expecting it to be a nice imperial measurement. It wasn't. So I also measured my plug (inner and outer diameters - they did not equate to nice inch and fractions either) so took mm measurements and went shopping. The plugs I found were 1 and half inch and 1 and three quarter inch. Eventually I tried the plumber's merchant who looked at the measurements marked on my piece of card and offered up an inch and a half plug which seemed to fit the bill. It seemed that the plug measurement is not the size of the aperture, but the maximum width of plug! Why? Curious, I measured the dimensions of my bath plug (widest diameter is 1.7"), but the plug I think is sold as 1 3/4 inches so its nominal size is larger than both the plug and the plug hole. So how did these sizes come about? I'd be interested in your stories. Connor2017 at tackleanything.co.uk.

Kind regards,

Connor. FreeFlow99 (talk) 13:49, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
