You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Charlotte High School Clubs requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, society, or group, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article Charlotte High School Clubs has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable run of the mill high school clubs.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – Train2104 (t • c) 04:49, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Page deletion[edit]

Hi Chris, I noticed that your page was placed up for deletion. Unfortunately I do have to agree with the person who nominated the article for deletion, as high school clubs for a specific school would not be something that would be considered notable enough to include on Wikipedia, at least not on its own article. Sometimes they can be mentioned on a page about the school itself, but even then the school would have to pass notability guidelines and the article wouldn't list all of the clubs individually but rather a general overview. The only time that there can be a page for a high school or learning institution's extracurricular activities is when those activities have attracted a lot of coverage in independent and reliable sources. For example, the clubs and groups at a place like Yale University would be more likely to have received coverage in places like books, newspapers, and the like, but even then it's more likely that the coverage would only be for very specific clubs or organizations within the school.

A good alternative may be to look and see if the school itself would pass notability guidelines, however I must stress that this can be a very difficult guideline for schools to pass since most schools only gain minor local coverage. A better alternative may be to look and see if you can add to information on the page for Extracurricular activity, as I note that this page needs to have information added about the topic to give it a broader global view.
