An idea for roster templates[edit]

Here's an idea: once they are announced, how about doing something on the roster templates to indicate who team captains are? Ringerfan23 (talk) 23:36, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Most teams don't officially announce them. Therefore it would be WP:OR. Pats1 T/C 23:45, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't it normally the 4 guys who go up for the cointoss and wear the giant "C" on there jerseys?Ringerfan23 (talk) 00:53, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Some teams don't have the C's on their jerseys (Pats, Raiders, some others). Most teams have more than 4 guys for the cointosses, and it changes. Pats1 T/C 17:19, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Best football infobox yet.[edit]

Have a look here. It nullifies all the ones we currently have. It's got room for death date and place. I even fixed it so that the stats section won't say NFL when the person plays in the CFL or AFL. I know, I know, it could probably stand to lose some stuff, but have a look and tell me what you think. I promise you, it's better than the ones we have now, includin' all the ones I made prior. However, there is a problem I was wonderin' if you could help me with, for the "Final season" section, right below the "Professional debut," I can't get it unbolded. I used the forumla for the stats header here so that when it's not needed it'll be gone and only appear when needed. However, I tried to use the forumula that the debut header uses, but I couldn't get it too disappear. Other than just bein' bold, it works as it should. Bust as I said, I know I may have gone into too much detail with it, lol, I was excited that I got it workin' for the most part. (Sorry for any mistakes above, I'm typin' with just one Shift key.) :D Thanks for the help, Crash Underride 21:54, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look more at it later, but I definitely thing it needs to lose the separate awards section and the college stats. Not worth it.►Chris NelsonHolla! 22:39, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Looks nice, but I agree with Chris, needs to lose the separate high school awards and college stats and awards things, other than that it looks great. Plus, it could get rid of the two infobox stuff.--Giants27 T/C 22:53, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plummer[edit]

Why do you keep putting Plummer in the reserves list at Tampa!

He is Retierd! He is not coming back to football and the Buccaneers and Plummer agreed to the repayment of the signing bonus he was given so their business is finished.

Soi[edit]

Don't use reflist|2 when there's only 1 source, because it will end up screwing up the formatting. Reflist|2 divides it into two columns (just as reflist|3 does 3), which is nice for Barack Obama, but isn't really needed on Brian Soi. Pats1 T/C 02:20, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Devone Claybrooks[edit]

I dont understand your reasoning. What does that mean not in the CFL it wasn't. NFL.com and numerous other sources have it as DeVone.--Yankees10 01:40, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not all of them. I recall throughout his career it being written different ways. But my point is he played in the CFL for two years most recently, and that entire time the CFL and the Alouettes had it as Devone. That leads me to believe the NFL teams had it wrong.►Chris NelsonHolla! 01:43, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You added Michael Kracalik to the roster, not Mike Kracalik, and Michael Kracalik wasn't a page until I just created it as a redirect a few minutes ago. So since Michael Kracalik was a red link when you added it to the Jets roster, I didn't know if you'd know Mike Kracalik already existed.►Chris NelsonHolla! 20:52, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh no, I fixed it right when you did, although for some reason we didn't edit conflict on that one. But guess that's reasonable since I was about to create it before realizing it was at Mike.--Giants27 T/C 20:55, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Stanley Arnoux[edit]

A tag has been placed on Stanley Arnoux requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. A tag has been placed on Bear Pascoe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Proposed deletion of Quinten Lawrence[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Quinten Lawrence, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Notability not established.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of Blake Schlueter[edit]

A tag has been placed on Blake Schlueter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Harrell[edit]

How does it seem untrue that the Browns signed him to a rookie free agent contract? I'm not going to argue with you about it, I just want to hear your rationale, that's all. If someone's reporting that he signed, I think it's OK to add him for now, until another report refutes it. Wlmaltby3 (talk) 00:04, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Other reports are refuting it. From the Cleveland Plain-Dealer via Rotoworld: "Updating a previous item, Texas Tech QB Graham Harrell has not signed a free agent contract with the Browns. Harrell was invited to Cleveland's upcoming minicamp, but isn't signed."►Chris NelsonHolla! 00:08, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Right after I left that message for you, I noticed Dallas' Scout.com site reporting that *they* had signed Harrell, so you're right, this one looks like it's up in the air for now. Cheers. Wlmaltby3 (talk) 00:10, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It seems likely he's attending a minicamp on a tryout basis, but news outlets have gotten incomplete info or have made assumptions so now you have reports that guys have signed when they are really just trying out. It happens every year.►Chris NelsonHolla! 00:12, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the Browns grab him, though. That'd be an excellent steal if he turns out to be any good at the pro level. Wlmaltby3 (talk) 01:49, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think he's capable of being an NFL quarterback. It wasn't all that system.►Chris NelsonHolla! 02:34, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
He's the steal of the draft in my opinion.--Giants27 T/C 02:46, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
