Massively multiplayer online hack and slash[edit]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Massively multiplayer online hack and slash, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. August 2009[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. I find it interesting that you arbitrarily remove external links while others remain. If in fact you believe the links to be spam then I would like to know how and why. I am not affiliated with Classical Connect. They are an excellent resource to listen to the composers in question. Each and every links was unique in that they went directly to the composer in question so that one might listen to artists' renditions of the composers music.

And yet, other sites have links on every composer page which offer nothing of value and the same link is plastered to every page in question. For example MusOpen.com (http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.musopen.com&bwm=i&bwmo=d&bwmf=s)among others.

So I ask you again, how are the links that I created, which are all unique URLs, of value and provide a free service and pertain to the topic at hand considered spam? It seems all arbitrary and without guidance to me.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisrick (talk • contribs)

The most problematic aspect of your editing pattern is your behaviour of solely linking to one site and making the link sound promotional and overly attractive. This behaviour appears to constitute linkspamming, and can be reverted on sight. You should asses how an external link benefits the individual article you are editing and then add it in, do not just add every single webpage of a site to its respective article on Wikipedia. Also I note that "other stuff exists" is not a valid argument for including the links you put in, since many of the articles on composers are badly in need of cleanup. It's, if anything, factual. The works of the composers are indeed performed by various musicians and you can indeed listen for Free...so it appears to be 100% factual to me.

Addressing anything on any of these talk pages is akin to creating a mountain with a spoon and a small bucket...as in unproductive, slow and generally a great big waste of time. In fact, I can see that attempting to further the Wiki cause on my part was much of the same. You yourself state that the links need to be cleared up, well might one suggest that someone get to it?
