License tagging for Image:DSceneMySpace.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DSceneMySpace.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

billy van[edit]

Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, or they will be deleted. Although you gave some references/external links, they did not appear to be reliable independent sources, and there isn't any obvious explanation of why he is notable. In fact, I don't even know what his nationality is, that seems to have been overlooked amongst all the spam.
More to the point, it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: unique combination of hyper aggressive sounds, funky improvisation, and pop songwriting... Infectious melodies and stirring progressions... those beautifully delicate crafts... captured millions of listeners... displayed the versatility of Billy’s production... signature musicianship... — this is a sales pitch, not an encyclopaedia article
The article was created in a single edit without wikilinks or references, and looks as if was copied from an unknown and possibly copyrighted source.

You need a first sentence to tell us who he is, something like — Billy van is an American musician from ??
Give any other factual bio stuff if known, dob, school etc
I'd be inclined to lose some of the social media stuff (soundcloud, facebook, itunes), current long list looks a bit desperate and promotional.
I'm not totally convinced either that he meets our notability criteria or that the sources are all that impeccable. Nevertheless, if you make the changes above, I'll leave it to others to decide on that.
When you are ready, use the "move" button to get it to article space, don't copy-and-paste.
