Article for Creation[edit]

Hi Codetiger, you have nominated an article for creation, however you are a registered user and you can create articles yourself. Just follow go to Multiplayer Mobile games, it should give you an article not found page, but if you are logged in you will have an option to create an article there.--Konstable 13:33, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Codetiger[edit]

Good to meet you :) I just left working at Jamdat mobile doing N player networked multiplayer games for 3 years. (I'm now helping MySpace start their mobile division). Feel free to email me or hit me up on AIM if you wanna talk about an article. I cleaned up the advertising on this page.

Vandal Fighting[edit]

While you don't need to be fast, I use WP:VF#3.3 and it gives you vandalism live. As to putting templates as warnings, they can be found here. But I employ a customized Monobook.js which adds tabs when I'm in the User talk page, which makes putting specific templates much easier. See here what my setup looks like. BV tab is the Blatant vandal warning and in the background is VF running. Certain colors indicate large pages changes; if you want help setting up your monobook.js, let me know. You can see mine here; and you can copy it to your monobook location and modify it there to your liking.

PS: Sometimes I just kee VF running in the background, and after an hour I'll look over edits and try to find vandalism that others have missed. - RoyBoy 800 06:34, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I also use FireFox, because its tabs makes multiple windows much easier to manage than IE. But you have to setup FireFox so that it opens Links in new tabs. - RoyBoy 800 06:36, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also I use function keys whenever possible to keep my mouse fingers from getting tired, such as alt-s (Firefox 1.5.0.7) for save and alt-e for edit and alt-w to close a tab. (alt+shift-s and alt+shift-e for FireFox 2.0) - RoyBoy 800 06:40, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, Thanks a lot. I need your help greatly. Let me also know about setting up my mombook.js. Now I already have tabbed Browser. And I have learnt the shortcut keys from you... then .. codetiger 06:43, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You can click edit on mine and then just copy and paste it into yours. You can experiment from there; takes a little messing around to understand it. If you want to chat, I suggest going to Wikipedia:IRC channels, where there are plenty of people to chat to and learn even more from. Bedtime for me. - RoyBoy 800 06:54, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Codetiger, I can't really add much to what RoyBoy has said above. Tools like WP:VP2 and even popups are helpful for vandalism. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me. riana_dzasta 07:30, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Eep! Unfortunately I've never used VF, so I don't know how to help you. I personally use Lupin's anti-vandal tool as it is basically a list which is constantly updated via recent changes with suspicious words or phrases. It also allow for non-admin rollack. Perhaps you should ask on the VF talk page for help - or if they have an IRC channel, you could go there and see if someone is online to give you a hand. riana_dzasta 07:48, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

muffin[edit]

It's been taken care of. I blocked the 72... user, and another admin blocked Vexmaster, shortly before you left your message. They could come back under other names, but it should be ok for now, and I will be watching the Muffin page for any more vandalism. Any admin can block any user who is vandalizing the site. Edit on Subrogation[edit]

Hi! I have reverted your edit on Subrogation. I understand you spend a lot of your time reverting changes, perhaps this was by accident? I cannot see any reason to your edit, please excuse me if there was. Thanks --DanielBC 08:45, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

John Warner[edit]

Please check edits before reverting them. Wikipdia has an article under the title Dick Obenshain but not one under Richard Obenshain. My edit was not vandalism but a correction. Whilst patrolling for vandalism is a useful contribution to Wikipedia, reverting without taking the trouble to check an edit first is a waste of everyone's time.

--

Ditto the Fred Durst article, where you added back in vandalism. Do you actually read the stuff you revert? - Stick Fig 06:56, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please see Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2005-06-27/Article blocking. Cheers, Khoikhoi 06:57, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning templates[edit]

Please substitute warning templates; Template:TestTemplates says that this should always be done. Thanks. JDtalk 14:18, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your comment. But I use to put test templates and I am not sure what did you mean in your message. Can you please be a bit indetail. thanks codetiger 14:26, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
When you warn a user, instead of typing {{testx}}, type {{subst:testx}}. This should be done with all warning templates. JDtalk 14:29, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Daisy Dukes[edit]

Dunno whether it's your bot or what, but you seem to have restored vandalism to this page that someone else removed. Please be careful. Thanks! --Darksasami 21:31, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, It was my mistake on Daisy Dukes, I mistook the edit. I am not a bot, and thanks for your help on correcting me. codetiger 04:10, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks! Sorry, figured it was a bot error because of the VandalProof guy just above this discussion. :D --Darksasami 18:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Smackall[edit]

Regrettably, the Smackall article was such that it met our criteria as spam; a formal deletion debate endorsed this assessment, and accordingly I deleted the article. Sorry. DS 13:59, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jellybeans..[edit]

You have been awarded these Jelly Beans from -The Doctor- Please, enjoy them.

Here are some Jelly beans for you. I love jelly beans as they have sugar in them and most people love sugar. But on the other hand just receiving somthing from somone else just makes you happy and also just giving this to you makes me happy. I hope to spread the jelly beans all over Wikipedia, so here, you can have this lot. Please enjoy them. (I like the lime ones.)

Editors need a bit of a sugar high too.

Duke of Braganza[edit]

Hi, I insert in the page Duke of Braganza only the real name of the pretender Maria Pia of Saxe Coburg Braganza, daughter of the king Charles, This is not vandalize this page but only insert her real name here, infact the name Hilda Toledano she used only only as WRITER and many royalist supporting the other pretender Duarte Pio want insert this pseudonym in order to discredit Maria Pia. User: 82.60.186.107 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I have seen this now. I don't want delete the other contents. In an encyclopedia important as Wikipedia is correct insert all the contents and not as in this case insert only a pretender as Duarte Pio and not a pretender as Maria Pia in order to discredit Maria Pia. She was a pretender and now her heir Rosario is the pretender of a branch of the Royal House of Portugal, they have also many supporters and also if many supporters of Duarte Pio don't want insert them as pretenders in the wiki pages if Wikipedia is really an impartial encyclopedia we should insert here all the pretenders, with their real name and not pseudonym. Thanks User: 82.60.186.107, 10:48, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit on Cult Television Page[edit]

I recieved a message from you that I "vandalized" the cult television page. I merely added two new episodes in correct alphabetical order to the listings. The British TV series of Coupling and the anime series Ah! My Goddess. As far as I'm concerned these two shows have quite a cult following from where I'm from and considering they are actual episodes of actual television shows and not random links to wiki definitions of sexual fetishes I honestly can't understand why this would be vandalism.

Sorry I got a little angry, I've done this once before and had my changes deleted due to 'vandalization' when all I did was change something to correct grammar or correct spelling. I'm not really that well learned on the entire coding process that wikipedia uses so making an account and such just doesn't seem like the thing for me. The most I know is basic html that is used in blogs or simple webpage making like with Tripod.com or something like that.

I'll remember to put my changes in the summary box next time. I suppose that helps a bit.

Thanks, I created a username though my info page is lacking considerably at least I can now edit pages with some verifiability.

Thanks[edit]

Hey, a big thankyou for reverting vandalism on my talk page swiftly and effectively. Greatly apreciated --Sharz 12:21, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Er...[edit]

That wasn't a "test". That change to the Tonight Show page was intended as a real edit. (Ed McMahon's line is "Since noon today", not "overnight"). - 67.191.254.83 23:47, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My edits do not qualify as vandalism. --207.69.137.6 16:15, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ross Perot[edit]

This[1] is a minor edit, adding links and correcting grammar. All of them were valid and correct. If you wish to explain your reverts, please contact me. I will reperform my changes until then. From your discussion page, it seems like you have made many uninformed reverts.

Happy Feet[edit]

I did not remove anything. This was an accident. :-D

The current page (which you keep reverting to) has a lot of information which is, while certainly relevant, is both not an encyclopedic way of writing the article and has been tagged for a cleanup since August... it certainly needs these changes. I'm not suggesting that my changes should be kept totally, but imo reverting to a flawed version isn't much better :/ Shas 17:34, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

looking at the history of the page you have mensioned, there is no footprints for my edits or reverts. Please make sure if you are in the right place.
Ack, sorry about that.. you reverted an edit made yesterday, I thought it was you wholly. Sorry again, Shas 19:04, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, Thanks for the same. I have just started writing a bot similar to AntiVandalismBot with some more intelligence. Actually I use to put sometime everyday on Antivandalism and as I am very much interesting in programming, I was thinking of writing something similar to Antivandalismbot. The piece which is now running is a test one, where I am yet to implement antivandalism to userpages first. Also to be true, I dont want to affect Wikipedia in any corner but I always wanted to do some help to improve it. Let me know how do I start from here now. I am registering it now as you have adviced. Also please help me by listing some dos and donts for writing a bot. Finally A Very Happy New Year Wishes to you and your family. codetiger 05:18, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not interested in creating an account[edit]

Dear SmackallBot, I have been creating new and editing Wikipedia articles since March/2001; I am well aware of the Wikipedia community and do NOT wish to be engaged in pointless discussions by its politically-corrected committee culture. I simply wish to point them in the direction of fixing some of the small errors of fact being published; I do not wish to spend my life in committee debates.58.107.10.36 05:00, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot's template[edit]

Thank you for your work helping to fight vandalism to Wikipedia articles. However, I am concerned by the sentence of your template reading "And most Vandal fighters assume it as Vandalism if you dont use a login." That is a serious overstatement and suggests that we assume bad faith for all IP edits, which is definitely not the case. I ask that you consider deleting or modifying this sentence. Or, if you took it from somewhere else, please let me know so I can discuss it with that person. Thanks, Newyorkbrad 23:51, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your words, as per your advice I am changing the statement now. Also if you could give me an idea on developing a new bot that would be great. codetiger 13:09, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
