KQRZ-LP reply[edit]

Picture of the location of the transmitter according to the FCC; i.e. the former school off River Road that has been closed for awhile including when I took this picture several years ago

You're right, I don't know this. And to be a bit flip back, I don't know this because you did not cite these facts in the article using a reliable source. That is to say, we don't just take people's words for things, and instead require that it be sourced to reliable sources. Currently, the FCC would be the definitive source on the matter, so, perhaps wait until your move is complete and the FCC updates their database, then you can correct as needed. What difference does it make if I have been to the former school (that is what the FCC has on file)? Other than taking your word for it the transmitter could still be there, despite the school being closed. As to not having coordinates, I recently re-added them after you apparently removed them because it placed the article in a special maintenance category for articles missing coordinates. The reason it was in that cat (besides you removing the coordinates) is because all radio stations should have them. Why you ask? Because the FCC keeps that data, so it is easily available and verifiable. Any article that does not have them is incomplete and should have them added (see in general the logic arguments contained in Wikipedia:Other stuff exists). That is why they are there and why they should remain until the coordinates can be updated based on a reliable source. Just like there should be an ownership history that includes a mention of the old school. Aboutmovies (talk) 06:20, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do you understand Wikipedia? Your organization does not own the article. I am assuming you have a conflict of interest with the article, thus please think about your edits. Station histories are a part of what we do with radio station articles. Not to mention you are incorrect, as the FCC says they did operate at 96.3:
KQRZ-LP OR HILLSBORO USA

  Licensee: OREGON AMATEUR RADIO CLUB
Service Designation: FL Low Power FM (LPFM) station or application

  Channel/Class: 242L1 Frequency: 96.3 MHz Licensed
File No.: BLL-20090209AGW Facility ID number: 134266
  CDBS Application ID No.: 1295132

45° 30' 27.00" N Latitude Site in Canadian Border Zone
  122° 58' 2.00 " W Longitude (NAD 27) Distance to Border: 305.0 km
Furthermore, radio stations are not automatically notable (see the note as such on the article's talk page), thus why we add-in independent sources such as the newspaper article. Seeing as you are struggling with how we do things, and you seem to not want to listen to my advice despite my extensive knowledge and experience on Wikipedia, I'd suggest seeking guidance from other radio people at Wikipedia:WikiProject Radio Stations. Meanwhile, if you are operating in good faith, please at least restore the 96.3 portion given the evidence above. Aboutmovies (talk) 06:55, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
