POTD scheduling[edit]

Hi and thanks for your efforts in scheduling the Picture of the day. However, the image you selected, File:Thomas Bresson - Machaon-1 (by).jpg is not a Featured Picture. The Pictures of the day are selected from the existing Featured pictures in a roughly FIFO order. If you are interested in nominating this image for Featured status, please do so at Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates. Close-up photography[edit]

Because close-up photography is where the reproduction ratio is from 1:10 to 1:1. More of "macro" photographs are really close-up photographs. --ComputerHotline (talk) 10:55, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Repeating the content of the article doesn't help me to understand the difference. In any case, the difference doesn't appear to be significant, so I would suggest adding a new section to Close-up about the differences you are referring to, because as it stands the titles of the two articles are ambiguous and you need to provide enough context so that someone unfamiliar with the subject can understand what your talking about.
