February 2008[edit]

The information I posted to United States third party presidential candidates, 2008 was to inform people of a formation of a new political party, and a write-in candidate for President. Please do not delete it. I will add the hang-on tag. and I am open to suggestions to make this information fall into compliance with wikipedia. You should consider deleting the article Unity 08 as that organization no longer exists. Coolnation (talk) 23:17, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles, as you did to United States third party presidential candidates, 2008. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Jfire (talk) 23:09, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:2008 Cool Rock Party presidential candidates, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Template:2008 Cool Rock Party presidential candidates|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Help Request[edit]

{{helpme}} I represent a New Political Party. How can I let people know we exist using wikipedia?

There are numerous problems here I'm afraid – it is possible for your party to have an article provided they meet the notability guidelines using reliable sources. However, you editing the article might create a conflict of interest as you'd perhaps try and show the party in a good light. This is a difficult issue to get around I'm afraid. Do you have any links to elsewhere on the web that talks about your party? αlεxmullεr 23:53, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My website http://www.coolrock.com talks about my party, and I am trying to stay unbiased in my descriptions. It seems very difficult, as I am trying to let people know I exist, but I must have more reliable sources first. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hi there! As User:Alex.muller stated above, it would not be a good idea for you to create and/or edit an article about this subject (per wikipedia's conflict of interest and notability guidelines). The best idea would be to wait for somebody not personally to the subject to write the article. Hope this helps! If you have any further questions, feel free to ask them here or on my talk page. --omtay38 00:12, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Coolnation/David Jon Sponheim, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -- mitchsurp -- (talk) 00:46, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:America's Third Party Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:America's Third Party Logo.jpg, which you've sourced to www.americasthirdparty.com. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 09:52, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Third party (United States) nominated for deletion[edit]

The group lacks sufficient notability, and an article by this name was deleted in 2011 for lack of notability. If you would like to contest this nomination, please join the discussion here. TechBear | Talk | Contributions 14:50, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article America's Third Party is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/America's Third Party (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Arxiloxos (talk) 19:33, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:America's Third Party Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:America's Third Party Logo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 12:54, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

User:Coolnation/David Jon Sponheim, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Coolnation/David Jon Sponheim and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Coolnation/David Jon Sponheim during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. --Bongwarrior (talk) 04:34, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
