February 2008[edit]

The information I posted to United States third party presidential candidates, 2008 was to inform people of a formation of a new political party, and a write-in candidate for President. Please do not delete it. I will add the hang-on tag. and I am open to suggestions to make this information fall into compliance with wikipedia. A tag has been placed on Template:2008 Cool Rock Party presidential candidates, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Help Request[edit]

{{helpme}} I represent a New Political Party. How can I let people know we exist using wikipedia?

There are numerous problems here I'm afraid – it is possible for your party to have an article provided they meet the notability guidelines using reliable sources. However, you editing the article might create a conflict of interest as you'd perhaps try and show the party in a good light. This is a difficult issue to get around I'm afraid. My website http://www.coolrock.com talks about my party, and I am trying to stay unbiased in my descriptions. It seems very difficult, as I am trying to let people know I exist, but I must have more reliable sources first. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hi there! As User:Alex.muller stated above, it would not be a good idea for you to create and/or edit an article about this subject (per wikipedia's conflict of interest and notability guidelines). If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license.
