Soapboxing[edit]

Hello there. Regarding the talk messages you have left on several pages I thought I would point out a few pages that you should read, namely WP:TALK and WP:SOAP. Talk pages are for constructive discussion of pages with regards to fixing them or otherwise improving the article, they are not for editorialising and soapboxing about your point of view. Harry was a white dog with black spots 13:14, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Most of your comments amount to soapboxing. They contravene (among others) "Opinion pieces on current affairs or politics. Although current affairs and politics may stir passions and tempt people to "climb soapboxes" (i.e. passionately advocate their pet point of view), Wikipedia is not the medium for this." You have repeatedly advocated your views on various subjects. Please stop or you will be blocked from editing. Harry was a white dog with black spots 14:21, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hello again You tell me off for deleting my talk page at the end of each week however when i ask a question on yours about your understanding of the Banning Policy ie block from editing you delete. Could you please point out why you can do it to my how is my comments Vandalism and also point out what my comment on other articles are Vandalism as i would greatly appreparte the help and understanding of others. Many Thanks Craig7006 19:15, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Titanic[edit]

Hi Craig. Any chance of removing this from your user page? --John 14:37, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mind if I remove it? It really isn't encyclopedic. Sorry to bother you again. --John 14:24, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to bother you yet again. You see, although you have tinkered with it, it still sounds rather uncivil to say "Other editors through little education...". As one of the other editors you are referring to there, I question your right or ability to assess my education or lack of it on the subject of Irish history or the Titanic. Please sort it out and remember we are trying to write an encyclopedia here; anything that doesn't help towards that goal is liable to be removed. Best wishes, --John 18:56, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning[edit]

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did by soapboxing on various talk and article pages, you will be blocked from editing. Harry was a white dog with black spots 14:27, 28 June 2007 (UTC)}}[reply]

Hi Again

Under Vandalism you are to "Do not use these templates in content disputes; instead, write a clear message explaining your disagreement." Not to tell me off then to stop me from editing. Tell me what pages and what i have done in content ie that comment could be classed as slagous

This should refresh your memory. It would help if you didn't delete your page. The pages on which you have soapboxed have repeatedly been pointed out to you, including your user page. I will not discuss this further. If it continues, you will be blocked. Please try to contribute constructively, sourcing your comments carefully and not merely expressing your opinions. Harry was a white dog with black spots 19:03, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you would note i have not touched any titanic or irish page for a month or more as i have read the Guides on wikipedia. Could you please tell me what is wrong with the coments i had ADDED to The Mosquito as the other editor and i were discussing whether it was illegal or not i also included the URL to the goverment website on Human Rights. I would suggest that you are infact using a "Sock Puppet" as you can have multiple ones. Someone should start Blocking you. Craig7006 19:11, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RMS Titanic[edit]

Belfast was very much part of Ireland. Please don't change it to Ulster; what we have conforms to consensus and policy. Thanks.--Guinnog 00:13, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Guninnog Belfast is part of the Island of Ireland however it was part of ULSTER could i suggest that you check the history books and not Wikipedia. Craig7006 13:39, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am very well aware of Irish history, thanks. As I pointed out on the article's talk page, I will not tolerate political POV-pushing on this article. Thanks. --Guinnog 23:20, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But i am not pushing political povs it is fact... and wikipedia is not recoziges as a real encylopedia, i suggest if you dont understand then you should come a live in Northern Ireland for a while. Where do you come from anyway. you cant be from Northern Ireland because it is taugh in history. Craig7006 00:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever you say. If you change the article again you will put yourself at risk of being blocked, something I am sure you wouldn't want. --Guinnog 00:52, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I havnt touched it for a couple of days. and i am sure that you are just a bully newcomers and people who have a qualification in the topics being disussed in your case wrongly. Craig7006 00:55, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
One of the things we believe in around here is using sources. I did some checking, and found a number of sources that discuss Irish history, specificly during the pre-independence period. This is but one example, but one that I will quote from: "After the First Home Rule Bill had failed, the Conservative leader had come to Ulster, where Irish Unionism was significantly stronger than anywhere else. He told the Unionists that they could count on British Unionists to help them resist Home Rule. He famously commented that 'Ulster will fight and Ulster will be right'. In 1892, the Unionists started to use the slogan 'Erin go bragh' which is Irish for Ireland for ever to show their commitment to maintaining Ireland's position as a part of the UK. There was also some sporadic rioting in Belfast, because the Unionists in Ulster had begun to be regarded as anti-Catholic. This was a charge they didn't face in the rest of Ireland, where there was less trouble."
Note the term "Ireland" (which I've bolded) is used here, as it is in other histories. Neither Guinnog nor myself are bullies, and it is not our intent to make your experience here a bad one, but as you are a newcomer, I would suggest that you take some time and learn how things are done here before being so adamant in your edits. The ROI was the state that left the UK, the North of Ireland (Ulster and known from the 1920s as Northern Ireland) never left the UK as such the city of Belfast was never in Ireland. Craig7006 13:19, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Incorrect. ROI was formed after leaving the UK, but prior to 1922 all of the island of was governed as the substate of Ireland as part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Ben W Bell talk 14:53, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Stop picking fights Craig! I live in Belfast. I'm only at grammar school and even I know that at the time of the Titanic Belfast belonged to the state of Ireland and the state of Northern Ireland did not exist. Thus by Wikipedia tradition the point of origin shall remain Belfast, Ireland. User:callumbm (User talk:callumbm) 00:26, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, he's just being awkward while trying to show off his defensive and quite sectarian demeanour. Wikipedia is here to provide the free flow of knowledge not to host you political rants Craig. User:callumbm User talk:callumbm 00:31, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
