The page Draft:Immortality — The Real Secret has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://www.earlychristianwritings.com/text/shepherd-lightfoot.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Maybe use Wikisource?[edit]

Hi! I came here from the help desk. I have no idea of the specifics, but you may want to put those PD translations of early Christian material on Wikisource. Try to find material that is clearly in the public domain (i.e., translations made prior to 1928), and clearly document where they came from. They unquestionably belong at Wikisource. Wikisource is ideal for this because it has all the technical capabilities to track the wikisource text back to the scanned pages. This completely decouples the copyright issues from any issues of suitability of your quotations here in Wikipedia. The extent of those quotations is then a matter of editorial judgement and can be discussed on the article talk pages to reach consensus, without the distraction of the copyright (non)issue. -Arch dude (talk) 18:11, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
