Album infoboxes[edit]

Hi. Thanks for jumping on this project so quickly! However, please follow the Chronology section format at WP:ALBUMS more closely. Thank you. —Slicing (talk) 09:40, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

I've noticed you working on albums for the Albums Wikiproject and that's great! Just to let you know, there's a human-assisted bot that converts the infoboxes much more quickly than doing it by hand. See the talk page for more info. You're still welcome to do it, though. Also, if you like creating articles for albums, you may be interested in this Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/List of notable albums. If you have any questions, let me know. Keep up the good work. :) Gflores Talk 19:25, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see anything that makes this group notable. I'm giving you a little bit more time, but unless I see something added that makes the group notable, it will be deleted. Releasing one album on an indy label doesn't satisfy WP:MUSIC. Have they charted nationally perhaps? --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 08:12, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I read your talk page comments. The problem is that all of the acts you mention pass WP:MUSIC because they have more than 1 release on a well known indy label. Fielding does not. The shortness of the article has nothing to do with it. It's a question of notability. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 08:25, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Instead of speedying it, I'll put PROD on it. It'll give people 5 days to try to make it notable. If someone agrees with you and thinks it's notable, they can remove the tag. That sound ok? --Woohookitty(meow) 08:38, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
works for me Crazyale 08:43, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Will do.

Fair use rationale for Image:Black cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Black cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 14:45, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Striking your vote[edit]

Hello Crazyale,

Thank you for your interest in the Wikimedia Board Election. The Election Committee regretfully informs you that your previous vote was received in error and will be struck according to the election rules, described below.

The Election Committee regretfully announces today that we will have to remove approximately 220 votes submitted. These votes were cast by people not entitled to vote. The election rules state that users must have at least 400 edits by June 1 to be eligible to vote.

The voter lists we sent to Software in the Public Interest (our third party election partner) initially were wrong, and one of your account was eventually included to our initial list. There was a bug in the edit counting program and the sent list contained every account with 201 or more edits, instead of 400 or more edits. So large numbers of people were qualified according to the software who shouldn't be. The bug has been fixed and an amended list was sent to SPI already.

Our first (and wrong) list contains 80,458 accounts as qualified. The proper number of qualified voters in the SPI list is now 52,750. As of the morning of July 4 (UTC), there are 2,773 unique voters and 220 people, including you, have voted who are not qualified based upon this identified error.

In accordance with voting regulations the Election Committee will strike those approximately 220 votes due to lack of voting eligibility. The list of struck votes is available at https://wikimedia.spi-inc.org/index.php/List_of_struck_votes.

We are aware of the possibility that some of the people affected may have other accounts with more than 400 edits, and hence may still be eligible to vote. We encourage you to consider voting again from another account, if you have one. If you have no other account eligible to vote, we hope you reach the criteria in the next Election, and expect to see your participation to the future Elections.

Your comments, questions or messages to the Committee would be appreciated, you can make them at m:Talk:Board elections/2007/en. Other language versions are available at m:Translation requests/Eleccom mail, 07-05.

Again, we would like to deeply apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,
Kizu Naoko

I have tagged Image:Everytime_we_touch_cover.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Afterglow (band)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Afterglow (band), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Afterglow (band). Deletion issue[edit]

Hello Crazyale, a Pitt-related page very similar to ones that you helped to work on has been tagged for deletion. The page tagged for deletion is the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article may determine the eventual fate of other similar Pitt pages that you helped to create. If you are willing, please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pittsburgh-Dental.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pittsburgh-Dental.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Great pic of Onondaga County War Memorial building![edit]

It is a great pic, i know too well, that you just uploaded for Onondaga County War Memorial. Thanks for adding it to List of Registered Historic Places in Onondaga County, New York, which is on my watchlist. I tried taking pictures of the building back in December, but none of them worked out. I know it is difficult to get a good field of view to show the building. Your skill and/or your camera is better than mine! Also, your capturing a U.S. flag so briskly flying, and your adding the pic on 4th July, is a very nice touch!

Perhaps you may add more for List of Registered Historic Places in Onondaga County, New York, which you obviously now know about? Please consider joining the Syracuse Wikiproject, if u are local. Any which way, nice job with the photo! Cheers, doncram (talk) 20:23, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alvord House and NRHP infoboxes[edit]

Hi Crazyale -- Nice continuing work, with Alvord House and others. I "watch" the List of RHPs in Onondaga article so i notice your edits there.

About Alvord House, you did a nice job and I appreciate in particular your going to the state website and getting the NRHP nomination document to reference and to use in developing the article. You might want to follow the reference formatting example for a NYS NRHP site that i recently revised within wp:NRHPMOS, which provides a more specific link for the text, photos, and correspondence. But what you did is good already, properly crediting the author of the text and providing a link to the search site so that others could find it.

Also the infobox was good, too, but you will notice that I just edited it. I am guessing you are not aware of what i call the Elkman NRHP infobox generator tool. It is easy to use, you just go to http://www2.elkman.net/nrhp/infobox.php and search on, say "Alvord" in "NY", and it generates a filled out infobox, filled with official National Register Information System data for the site. You can just cut and paste the output, then edit further with additional info that you may have.

Anyhow, I made a few changes, to conform to output from there. For one, the NRHP refnum to display is the Federal, NRIS refnum, which shows in the Elkman output but which is different from the New York State number which you had displayed. Currently, there is no field in the NRHP infobox for a separate state identifier number. I don't think showing the state number is necessary. I made some other changes too, would be happy to discuss further. I noted, also, that the latitude-longitude coordinates in the Elkman output were slightly different than what you had entered, but I left yours in place instead as I imagine your info is better (though it may have moved the spot indicated only by 20 yards or so). The NRIS database's coordinates data is pretty good for most sites, but sometimes has big errors.

Also, you might want to list your new articles and/or new photos for existing articles in the announcement boxes for those on the mainpage of wp:NRHP. Doing that tends to attract some attention of other NRHP editors, who may add categories and make other helpful edits.

Hope this feedback is helpful. Anyhow, nice job and keep up the good work!  :) doncram (talk) 19:56, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually i further edited the page to expand the NRHP nomination document reference to cover the text, photos, and correspondence and link to those directly. When i did so, i notice the author info and date of preparation was in fact not correct. I imagine you copied the reference from another article and left the author and date unchanged. Anyhow, the author and date of doc prep info comes from section 11 in the NRHP nomination document. No problem, fixed now. Cheers, doncram (talk) 20:13, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback, doncram! I've recently just been adding photos to the list, but I'll probably create another article at some point and I'll make use of this info. Using the infobox generator tool should make life much easier. Crazyale (talk) 21:13, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Crazyale, the List of RHPs in Syracuse, split out from List of RHPs in Onondaga, is developing nicely. I like your Amos Block pic and article that leads it off. I have photos for more of the Ward Wellington Ward-designed houses on the list, will keep adding them. Others are contributing too. Cheers, doncram (talk) 00:20, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good job adding the last two pics! You beat me to it; I was out taking pics this weekend, too. That's what happens when you get a nice weekend around here in the winter....ya gotta get out and enjoy the sunshine. Did I happen to see you on Montgomery Street Sunday? I saw someone else there taking pics. Lvklock (talk) 00:54, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, you're not in Syracuse these days, by any chance? There's an event tomorrow morning, Wednesday July 21 I would very much like to invite you to, if you are. Also there could be a social event or two coming up, about which i would send announcement by email rather than announcing online. (If interested, case please email me, i have an email-to-me link at my userpage). --doncram (talk) 12:10, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats on scooping me![edit]

Congrats on scooping me! : P Namely, you posted pics of a number of NatReg buildings in Richmond, VA, and it looks like you took them the same day I might have (this past saturday week?)-- I hadn't gotten around to uploading them yet. Good work on getting some of the various ones. So our work doesn't overlap, are there any others you have taken and plan to post, or that are planning to take in the near future? Thanks for getting that shot! Acroterion (talk) 21:49, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I should have informed you...[edit]

Nothing at all personal. It's just that the presumed owner sent a message that it's the wrong place. He might have even said he's going to get another photo. See User_talk:Elkman#Vacation.3F and Wikipedia_talk:Nrhp#Pictures_of_private_houses (near the end of a long thread). Of course, you never know for sure who shows up here and why they say the things they do, but we should always assume good faith. Of course if you can check it out and get a new photo, or find out that User:Cookie pierce is wrong, we'll AGF as well. Thanks for contacting me, and always take a camera along - you never know when an NRHP site will come up!

Smallbones (talk) 21:39, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No big deal - I was just curious what happened. Unfortunately I'm no longer living in the area so someone else will have to check it out. I relied on the map shown at the end of the nomination form to find the location of the house, so hopefully someone can follow up based on that if we don't hear from the owner. Thanks! Crazyale (talk) 15:11, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Richmond NRHP list - completion?[edit]

Hey there! Sorry that it took so long for me to respond to your earlier post on my talkpage several months ago! Great uploads since then in the Metro Richmond area. Given that this month is "Wikipedia Loves Monuments" with a focused push on NRHP sites, do you think that together we can make the Richmond NRHP list complete, earning the coveted spot on the Wikiproject NRHP homepage? We have about maybe 13 or less images to go! Then we might be able to move on to Chesterfield, Henrico, and Hanover. Morgan Riley (talk) 16:21, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We can definitely do it if we split up the work! If you'd like to pick out 6 or 7 NHRPs to photograph, I can attempt to do the rest. My only concern is the Rice House. I haven't driven out to the area, but from google maps it looks like it will be a challenge to photograph. Crazyale (talk) 08:34, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If I am lucky, I can convince my friend who is a freelance photographer and who I know has taken pics of it, if she wants to be really nice, to donate one. We shall see. Morgan Riley (talk) 13:04, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
