Welcome[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Crazypinkster, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  AmiDaniel (Talk) 08:41, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes[edit]

Before you use userboxes, you should probably know that there is an ongoing debate about outlawing POV userboxes. As of yet no decision has been reached, but it's likely that in the near future any user box that expresses a belief will be deleted.

That being said, for a full list of current userboxes see Wikipedia:Userboxes. To add a user box, simply edit your page and where ever you want the box to appear, add the appropriate template. For example {{user en}} adds:

enThis user is a native speaker of the English language.

It can be a little confusing getting used to the strange coding, but eventually you'll get the hang of it. If you still have questions, I'm here to help :). AmiDaniel (Talk) 09:08, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Added a Couple Userboxes[edit]

I added the pacifist and not-Drug-free userboxes to your user page. I'm not sure there is a Native African userbox, but you can check under Wikipedia:Userboxes/Life. Edit your user page to see how I added them, and then you can start adding your own. It's no trouble at all, but I am actually just on my way to bed right now--you can still post questions on my talk page, but I probably won't answer them until late tomorrow. You can also add {{helpme}} to your user page and someone else will come to help you immediately. Good luck! AmiDaniel (Talk) 09:41, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there[edit]

Hi Crazypinkster, just wanted to drop by with a little tip on formatting: if you start a line with a blank space, it will be rendered as preformatted text and appear in an ugly grey box, like this:

blablabla this is preformatted text

In general, if you're adding something to articles or asking a question on the Reference Desk, you shouldn't start the line with a blank space. I also fixed the same formatting issue on your user page - hope you don't mind me doing so :) -- Ferkelparade π 11:15, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
