Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Stay Tooned! a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Sesame Street in Britain the UK

Hi Crazyseiko,

I just posted this [1] on User talk: Toddst1. I was going to bring this up on the talk page of International co-productions of Sesame Street, but I changed my mind and thought that I'd bring it here instead. First off, thanks for your contributions. As I wrote on Todd's talk page, I agree that the content has potential for a new article. I think that your version, at least currently, doesn't belong in the co-productions article. The article, before your additions, was a GA, and I don't think that your additions maintains its high quality.

The sources, for example, aren't adequate. They're valid, yes, but there's no way to check their validity. Sources (see WP:V) need to be verifiable. They also need at least the author and publication; you cite the publication, but not the author. See WP:CITE for the basics of citing sources. Another thing that's helped me are templates; see WP:CIT. I'd like to know exactly how you came across your sources. Can they be accessed on the web? I did a quick google search for them, and wasn't able to find them. We need evidence that you didn't make up the information.

The other issue I have that related to sources is that it looks like you cut-and-pasted some of the information, especially the five points under the "BBC" section. I see that you've had some issues with it in the past. Remember, Wikipedia isn't a regurgitation of content; it's a summary of all the research/information that's out there about a subject. There is information about the British versions of Sesame Street in Street Gang (book), Michael Davis' marvelous book about The Show, but I didn't think it was important enough to go into the article. With your sources and information, we can add a summary here.

So I've given you lots of reading to do! I'm willing to assist in any way I can; I'm committed to the improvement of Sesame Street articles. (The parent article, Sesame Street, is currently up for FAC [2], so I'd appreciate your support there.) I can help you with formatting and copyediting issues, too. Some thoughts not worth all that much

Crazyseiko, you've probably seen that I've completed my edits on the U.K. article, including writing a lead tonight. Thanks for the nice barnstar.

As I was working on the article, though, I had some thoughts for you that I wanted to share. Take what you like and leave the rest, please, as they say. I had some nice folks "mentor" me when I was new to Wikipedia, so I like to "pay it forward" and do the same for other editors. First off, I'd like to say what a pleasure it was working with you. Too many editors here take any kind of criticism too personally, like a personal affront. You were open to my suggestions, which I appreciate, because one of the things I love best about WP is the collaborative nature of writing and editing.

That being said, I have some suggestions about how you can be a more successful editor. I've already made a couple, like using a sandbox and being careful of plagiarism. As I read some of what you wrote, both in the article userspace and on the various talk pages we communicated on, it struck me that you're either 1) very young or 2) a non-native English speaker. Either way, I think that you should work on your writing skills, something we should all do. Take a class, or get some tutoring.

I've worked with a few people who either need improvement on their writing, or find the wiki interface overwhelming. In both cases, they've volunteered to work as my "researchers"; they find the sources, direct me to them, and then I do the writing and add the content. I'd be more than happy to do that for you, especially for Sesame Street articles. (Did you know that the parent article is now FA? I'm very proud.) Other editors are probably more than happy to do that for you as well.

Your emboldening and consistency issue

I am not commenting on whether you are correct or not. You may be, you may not be. What I hope my words can do for you is to help you to stand a couple of paces back and approach your consensus building in a more effective manner. You may disagree, of course.

To convince others that your view should prevail I think you need to argue for it quietly and without passion, using logic and gentle words. They will either see the wisdom of your argument or counter it with views of their own. You will never shift an entrenched view, nor will they shift your entrenched view, but you may woo the middle ground, the undecided editor. In that manner we can build a useful consensus, and things get done.

It's a two edged sword, though. Consensus may go firmly against you. If that happens stand back, swallow any pride you may have, and move forward obeying the consensus. Even if you achieved the reverse of the thing you wanted you will have created a consensus, just not the one you want.

On the issue you seem to feel strongly about I have no views. I am neutral. I simply care about your being able to make your point in the manner most likely to lead to the solution you hope for. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 14:19, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

London Weekend Television

Thanks for your changes to London Weekend Television. As you can see here, other wikipedians have worked hard cleaning up some of the spelling, capitalization and verb forms. Is it possible for you to go back and check that the quotations are accurate? For example, I find it hard to believe that Gerry Robinson was quoted as "We are obviously disappoint that having evidently accepted the commercial Argument in favour of scale, the board of LWT has not been able to recommend what is a generous offer". Also I don't believe that The Times would have used "its" instead of "it's" as a contraction of it is. I have declined your speedy deletion request. Please note that your comment on the article and Cymru.lass's talk page are actually wrong: any editor may decline a speedy deletion template from an article simply by removing the template. The only person who may not do this is the article creator (and if the article's been around for over a year and edited by many people, I might even let the article creator do it).

Having said that, I also declined the request as a patrolling administrator. Generally speaking, the only time duplication of articles qualifies for speedy deletion is when one of the articles was very recently created. In this case, that article dates back to 2012; there's no way to "speedily" judge which of the article structures is better. Perhaps both might even be good--there are plenty of television show that have both an omnibus article for all episodes as well as a detailed season by season set of articles. But not always. Ultimately, that needs to be decided at a serious discussion of involved (and, if needed, uninvolved users). Probably the easiest way is to propose a merger, tagging each involved page and then holding one central discussion on any one of the talk pages (just be sure editors on each page know where to go to to hold the discussion). Celebrity Squares (Series 4: Revived version)

Did the fourth series of the revived version of Celebrity Squares actually end on 26 August 1996? Because from the sources I'm getting, it ended at the very start of 1997. Is it possible that you can check this please, because I might be wrong. 86.133.108.242 (talk) 21:09, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

From what I have seen a number of the episodes in January 1997 some were (R) Like the New years day one, but the 2nd and 3rd Jan is a bit more tricky. Were there two left over from the series or were there also repeats to fill up the gaps until the following Monday. HTV regions did broadcast the 2/3 jan episode the following two Wednesday, because it wanted to show Murder she wrote. BIG Q: was it just filling up gaps or were there two left over episodes. Ah, because from LostShows.com, it says that there are 61 episodes in the revived version (3 of them being test/un-boradcasted pilot shows and 58 of them being all of the Series 1-4 broadcasted episodes). Did some of the latter Series 4 episodes air over the christmas period? How to move a page to new name

Hi, although you've been a Wikipedian for 4 and a half years (please forgive if i'm wrong) but it seems to me by looking at your contributions history, that you never moved a page to a new article name before, but you have created new ones instead, but not to worry. Here's how you do it:

1. Once you have already logged in, where you'll see "edit" and " view history", to the right, you'll find there's an upside down arrow. Just place the cursor over it, then click on "move"

2. Lets say you want move Real Radio Yorkshire to new name Heart Yorkshire. First you'll need to make there are no double or broken redirects or if the name has been deleted, otherwise it won't be possible.

3. At the "move page" boxed section, you'll see Move page: followed by the old article name Real Radio Yorkshire. Where it says To new title: type in Heart Yorkshire.

4. Where it says Reason: type in 'station rebrand.'

5. Then save by clicking the rectangular grey Move page button. That's it.

2015 UK Election Results Page and Scotland Map

Hi there, I am in need some serious help on two fronts, it's regarding the Results breakdown of the United Kingdom general election, 2015 page, it's in a very bad way and is in desperate need of some TLC as well as much more information adding to it, please can you help and also ask your friends to make this a serious priority, if possible could the page be kept roughly in line to the 2010 page but instead of having the results on a county wide with regards to England I was wondering if it could be done on a regional basis as it would look a lot better and easier to follow also if we could have a look at this potentially for the 2010 pages well and even the 2005 page of the same than that would be a much much better way forward. Also whilst still on the graphics topic we need to modify this following map.

This as you can tell is the electoral map of Scotland for both the 2005 and 2010 UK General Elections however there is a major problem as it's been taken from another file and cropped and as a result you can hardly see the Outer Hebrides nor can you see Orkney and Shetland at all so please can that be corrected. You say that if no one wants to talk about the issue, you will have to get a ruling from an admin board. You haven't presented evidence of a conduct issue. What policy are you saying has been violated? What I am seeing is that you don't like the content of the article. WP:ANI doesn't deal with content disputes. Maybe you don't understand that Wikipedia doesn't have editorial boards that resolve content disputes, and that content is dealt with by consensus. What you can do is to use a Request for Comments to ask for community participation on whether to remove the identification of the killer. If the other editors don't participate in dispute resolution, that is the next step. However, your talk about going to an admin board is mistaken as to how Wikipedia decides content disputes. Hello there. I was just bulk clearing up talk page edits from User:86.17.101.236, who's been copypasting lengthy BBC Genome search results onto talk pages, in one case running to 40k of text over 15 sections. (I raised it as a problem on their talk page to no response.) Talk pages are for discussing improvements to articles with other editors, and infodumping possible references gets in the way of that. To be fair the radio times is not primary since it would have been past to them from another department. When you split a page, you can't just copy and paste the contents to another article without providing proper attribution. See Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia. And really you should have opened a discussion at the Danger Mouse article before splitting so that other editors could weigh in. Thank you for your reply, for all the time I've been here your the first person to ever highlight Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia to my good self. I have added Template:Copied as you requested, I cant remember what other pages I have done this to, without checking out my history. I thought when it come to such spiting of pages IE episodes guides or DVD release, it would be a straight forward matter, Ie its not like history. More importantly it brings the page INLINE with other wiki pages thus it bring Continuity to wikipedia as a whole, which must be more important than anything else. For that reason I never see the need to open discussion for the other editors. Mind you from what I have seen of late from the other editors many are turning into the US congress and are just going around in circular motion not moving forward or wanting to make improvements even after highlight issues which are months old.
