You're still having trouble with the signature I see though. The userpage link always goes first from what I have seen, followed by the talk page link. Also, that extra mentioning of your name that doesn't link to anywhere should also go. At least you've mastered adding the signature part though so I give you a lot of credit there. Thanks for the compliment, I am working on it. I think the username with no link is coming from the tildes, I need to understand better which signatures are expected where and so forth. I have some HTML experience, but, it's been a while, it's slowly coming back to me! It also helps that I switched to Mozilla from IE, it's more HTML friendly, at least for me. PLEASE READ!

I am a freelance writer on Elance, primarily, I have completed projects on Associated Content and Constant Content as well. I have edited some articles on Wikipedia some years ago anonymously. I want to make it clear that I was hired by this man through Elance BUT prior to accepting his proposal, I did some research to determine notability. He has had quite a list of accomplishments and I feel he is notable and worthy of publication. I have interviewed him over the phone and had several follow up conversations with him. His associate and friend Steve G. Jones, of whom I hastily published (with regret) and faced being speedily deleted. Both of their biographies are part of my project, however, I just want to make clear these facts, 1. I did independent research to determine notability 2. I do believe they fit wiki's notable BLP criteria 3. I am not being paid a significant amount of money, ($200 and already have at least 65-70 hours into this)nothing near what I feel this project warrants, however, I felt it would give me valuable experience as a wiki editor/contributor which is something I have a definite interest in 4. I am a person of integrity and I in no way intend to try to violate any wiki rules for BLP's or anything else for that matter, my intent is to become an asset to Wikipedia, in other words, my involvement on these pages (referring to the BLP articles) is really and truly not malicious, I am not trying to add "garbage" for someone else to have to clean up. I will be asking for assistance regarding these two BLP's and I have verified several sources already. When I took on this challenge it was with the intention of finally having a topic I believed was worthy, trust me, in my field I have been approached by several people that felt that either they, or their company was worthy of a published Wikipedia entry and, well, they weren't even close. I at least felt these two men, Frank Mangano and Steve G. Jones are making incredible contributions in their field, regardless of whether or not others believe in what they do, they are helping people overcome both fatal conditions and phobias, something in which I happen to admire. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I welcome any comments, criticisms or contributions. That being said, I fully intend to maintain a presence here as a wiki editor at the very least, in other words, these writing are not the only thing that brings me here, they did however prompt me to change from anonymous and create a real wiki username, a much better approach in my opinion to adding quality contributions. Thank you for the disclosure, which earns considerable respect. If you plan to create articles for pay and would like an opinion on the evidence before committing immense amounts of time and effort, do always feel free to ask for a view. If notability can't be shown in a short paragraph and 5 cites, it's usually not going to exist, so that can be a quick way to find if your time and effort will be well spent.

Note 1 - Be aware of What Wikipedia is not in considering the evidence (ie sources and cites). Not all cites are actually good evidence of notability and the fact that a topic may have writings about it does not always mean it's notable. The notability guideline covers this in a bit more detail. The evidence itself sometimes needs careful review to identify if it is really speaking to notability or not.

Note 2 - If a subject is notable then developing that into an article can require many cites and considerable research. But the basic evidence that it's notable and meets criteria is usually very quick).

Frank Mangano

I'm concerned about notability on Frank Mangano. Rather than summarily deleting I thought I'd explain why here, and see what you think.

I'm in essence looking for evidence "the world at large" has "noticed" him, as evidenced by independent significant coverage, the underlying principle of notability. What the article tells me:

• He's a self-published author. His self-publications do not appear to be especially noted above the routine level for any average or usual self published author.
• A friend/colleague of his has posted or published some of his writings.
• He promotes himself a lot online.
• His activities include personal research into drug free treatments for common ailments.

The cites don't add much more. The article inflates even these modest items somewhat, so that "doing personal research" becomes "he is a bit of a philanthropist", "a friend published his writings" becomes "Has been recognized by (friend)", and "self-promotes" becomes "has established a tremendous presence on the world wide web". Steve G. Jones

I have removed the following text:

Recognized among his colleagues as a true master hypnotist aside numerous college level textbook publications, also attained notable achievement with the publication of "You Can Attract It", a book about the laws of attraction.

• Appears to be unverifiable or unsourced.

Jones has spent most of his adult life broadening his knowledge and expanding his education like.

• Most people do this, vague, non-encyclopedic tone.

He invented “Phone Hypnosis Mastery”, thus allowing another avenue for to assist clients and patients in search of such help.

• Appears to translate as "does hypnosis consultations by phone" according to the source.

He maintains his office and counsels his patients in private sessions, during which, he assists patients who may be experiencing one, sometimes more various ailments, including, but not limited to, anger management, anxiety, depression, natural childbirth, pain management, smoking cessation, weight loss and countless phobias. Alternatively, he has assisted many actors, producers, writers and directors to perform at their personal best.

• This is typical hypnotherapy work, doesn't need such expanding for an encyclopedia. Summed up as "psychological issues and professional coaching".

In this book the authors describe how people can utilize scientifically proven methods to transform their lives into ones which they desire.

• Puffery that doesn't add much to the article nor describe the book well.

I have also reworded the following:

His services are often called upon to help motivate and boost sales team's performances using a unique straightforward technique of which has been proven to help salesmen increase their sales.

• Appears to signify "He uses hypnosis techniques within sales training" - the rest seems like puffery.

He is on the Board of Directors with the American Lung Association, Los Angeles Chapter; he’s the Director of the Steve G. Jones School of Hypnotherapy and in addition, is Founder of the American Alliance of Hypnotists. Maintains active membership roles in National Guild of Hypnotists, American Council of Hypnotist Examiners and the International Registry of Professional Hypnotherapists.

• Reworded to: "Jones is a director of his own school of hypnotherapy and founder of the American Alliance of Hypnotists, and a board member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Lung Association, and a member of a number of hypnosis-related associations."

There is probably more that needs doing, and it's very unclear whether this article can pass the inclusion criteria. Still reviewing what's left after "removing the obvious". FT2 ^{(Talk | email)} 12:58, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

I have listed the article for deletion. Explanation follows.

A deletion discussion is the community's way that any user can ask for a comprehensive review of the merits of the subject as a Wikipedia article. On review following the cleanup above, it is not completely clear to me whether or not this subject is notable. Rather than making a summary decision I am using AFD to ask others for their view on the evidence as well.

An AFD listing (despite its name) does not have a presumption of any given outcome. Rather it is intended to generate discussion of strengths and weaknesses (which you can rectify and agree/disagree with). This kind of discussion requires users to state and explain possible concerns so that others can opine on how the article measures up to policy.

The end result will be that if kept, the article on Steve G. Jones shakes off any lingering concerns that may exist; by contrast if it is deleted you will know why rather than it being "on whim", you will see the full discussion, and you would save any time spent on it in future.
