Welcome!

Hello, Crlsmrgf, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:Crlsmrgf, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

A tag has been placed on User:Crlsmrgf, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

it is in spanish and it seems to be a flawed attempt to make an article

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Jasper Deng (talk) 19:33, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Crlsmrgf. I'm sorry the first thing you saw, here on Wikipedia, was a cold template. I've declined the speedy deletion nomination of your userpage and want to welcome you. I hope you'll have fun editing and, if you need anything, feel free to contact me on my talk page. That said, since this is the English Wikipedia, I'd like to invite you to write in English, so that everyone else will understand you... Cheers. Salvio Let's talk about it! 19:45, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some questions[edit]

I've just registered in wikipedia and logged for the first time. I went to the sandbox to test how it works and I read that I could try to edit also "my" (related to me) wikipedia page.

I naturally wrote it in spanish because it's easier for me (I'm spanish). If I shouldn't try anything in this page, please tell me where can I do (only in the sandbox??)

Should I register the spanish community better than the english one? In fact, I saw one "important" error in this page [[1]] and I wanted to join the discussion without perturbing too much... should I read something before joining a discussion??

I've just seen the participation of "Salvio", thanks lot! Anyway, I'll be happy if you answer me the latter questions... :)

No, it's OK to experiment on your own page; maybe better to use a user sub-page, like User:Crlsmrgf/Sandbox - you can just click on that and edit. There is no problem with editing your user page at User:Crlsmrgf, but people usually use those to say a little about themselves, if they want.
If you would like help making a correction to Ultrametric_space you can explain what you want here or at Talk:Ultrametric_space, but if you like, just be BOLD and make the correction yourself.
There is a Spanish-language Wikipedia at http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki but it is quite separate from the English-language one. JohnCD (talk) 20:05, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd already written a long response, so I will post it even though JohnCD has already helped... :] Welcome! I'm guessing what it means is you can edit your user page, found at User:Crlsmrgf. I see you've already tried that. One note is that you should put any correspondence, helpme templates, etc. on your user talk page here. You are welcome to use your user page as a sandbox or as a short "about me" page. You can read more about user pages at WP:User pages. You can also create your own sandbox (that only you edit) at User:Crlsmrgf/Sandbox. It's all a matter of personal preference.
As for registering with the Spanish Wikipedia, that's up to you. You can edit on one or both of them. You can create a unified login so that you can log in to most of the Wikimedia projects (including English Wikipedia and Spanish Wikipedia) with one username. That's explained at Help:Unified login. (Ignore this, you already have a unified account.)
You can definitely help out at Ultrametric space, if you like. There is some discussion on the page at Talk:Ultrametric space, or you can edit the article itself. There are a few pages you might find useful. WP:How to edit a page gives a basic overview of editing that can be very valuable. WP:Citing sources is also important, because on Wikipedia we try to make things as verifiable as possible. As for that article specificially, WP:Manual of Style (mathematics) and Help:Displaying a formula will both help you with the formulae on that article. You do not have to read all of these articles I've provided, but they can provide both a good launching-off point and a good reference if you get stuck. You can also reinstate the {{helpme}} if you need more help. Good luck and, again, welcome! GorillaWarfare talkcontribs 20:10, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) yet another response...'

Hi, and welcome.
Sorry for the confusion.
You can edit your user page, and say a bit about yourself - if you want. That page is User:Crlsmrgf. You can do whatever you like there (within reason) - say a little about who you are, what you are interested in, etc.
See Wikipedia:User pages
You can also make user subpages. For example, here are some;
Right now, those are red links - because they do not exist. But you can click on them, and make those pages. Or you can make more of them.
Regarding Spanish Wikipedia - you do not need to register separately. You can use the same username and password. Just go to es:Wikipedia:Portada.
Each language Wikipedia has its own rules - however, we have 'unified login' - which means, your user account will work on all sister wikis - German, French, Italian, etc. - and also Wikibooks, Wikinews, Wikiversity, and many more.

I hope that helps?  Chzz  ►  20:16, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
