Melvin Jones[edit]

"G12" isn't anywhere close to being a correct deletion summary. First, why use silly acronyms instead of something clear like "copyvio", and second - at minimum link to allegedly plagiarized source shuold be given. Otherwise, it is extremely difficult to verify that it was actually a copyvio and not just an admin mistake.

This particular case is not a blatant copyvio.

The article had first edits in 2001, and edits that old are not all saved. So we don't know whether it was entered at once (likely copied), or gradually (not copied). The earliest edit is similar, but not identical to that website. It might have been copied, changed here, and edits showing that lost; or copied from that website and then the original changed; or copied inexactly; or copied the other way. It might be a copyvio, but it's definitely not a speedy deletion case. Taw 18:47, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I edited/created the VaxInnate page. I work for the firm that created VaxInnate's website. VaxInnate.com (where all the edited content came from) is actually a “Feinstein Kean Healthcare Site.” As a hired representative of VaxInnate, we have permission to use their copy and information for various public relations activities, including posting information about the company on Wikipedia.

Was deleted under WP:CSD criterion G11 - corporate spam. I understand that you're the authorized representative, and that's part of the problem. See WP:SPAM for more. - CrazyRussian talk/email 23:19, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Self-portrait[edit]

Hi Crz, I just finished a rough translation of an article we don't have here User:DVD R W/Автопортрет, translated from ru:Автопортрет. Would you take a look, edit as you'd like (I'll move it rather than C&P to keep the history) and tell me what you think? We have portrait but self-portrait redirects to it with only two lines of discussion. I found this article on ru: and decided to try and bring it over. I could really use your help double checking my translation and with any other feedback. Regards, DVD+ R/W 03:17, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for participating in my recent RfA. Unfortunately consensus was not reached, and the nomination was not successful. I appreciate that you took the time to comment, and I did pay close attention to your thoughts, as I do find it a valuable thing to understand how I am perceived by others in the Wikipedia community. If there is anything that I can do in the future to help further address your concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. --Elonka 09:13, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please give your opinion on the talk page there regarding the issue of Meshulam disputing my section which says that Vayoel Moshe is the guiding manual of the EH on issues concerning Zionism. It's pretty obvious that the EH's hashkafah on Zionism is completely based on sefer Vayoel Moshe. I do not understand why Meshulam is making such trouble. Hopefully I do not need to convince you of the truth of my words. There is no source for my words. I have not found any source which states that Vayoel Moshe is the official manual of the EH. However the fact that its writer zy'a was the nasi and av beis din of the EH, as was his nephew Rav Moshe zy'a, and then the haskomoh they gave to the sefer Yalkut Amarim Vayoel Moshe a few years ago (which calls it a holy book, extremely important for everyone to read, which explains all of the tzoros of our times, etc). I am getting quite sick of Meshulam's rule-pushing. Apparently he simply does not like the fact that the most influential Chareidi organization in Eretz Yisroel is not a Zionist, and he is trying to censore out this information by pretending it is OR. I am getting sick of this. --Daniel575 | (talk) 11:11, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I remember these guys. We named our own medical band after one of their previous incarnations. They're of local notoriety in Ottawa; must say, I wouldn't have heard of them aside. I did not realize that posting information about a non-profit organization serving low income and people of color communities was considered spam. Is there a place on the wiki network for information on organizations?

Mustafa Shalabi[edit]

Thanks for the heads-up on Mustafa Shalabi. I was going to thank you after completing my rewrite to eliminate the copyright violation. Then I was going to put a comment on the {afd} telling interested contributors that it had been rewritten to eliminate the copyright violation.

However, when I went to save my changes, I got a screen I had never seen before, telling me that the article had already been deleted.

I guess this means you were awarded administrator status? I saw you had been nominated. Congratulations. There wasn't anything interesting in the original article's edit history? It was born a copyright violation?

Cheers! -- Geo Swan 12:56, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Llanfairpwll[edit]

Hello, I noticed you know of that Welsh city Llanfairpwll... I thought I was the only person who knew; I can pronounce it, but can't spell it. Well, good to know someone shares common (useless) knowledge with me. I'll see you around. | AndonicO Talk 18:22, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a guideline regarding deletion of talk pages? I know others have had this request honored in the past (User:WCityMike for example). -MrFizyx 00:41, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Never heard of it done before. Feel free to resubmit, tho, since I've never seen it before, I doubt any other sysop would do it either. Ask at WP:ANI. It's a common sense thing, really. - CrazyRussian talk/email 00:43, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was surprised when I had seen it done in the past.[1] Not doing it makes more sense to me I suppose. By the way, good to see you've got your sysop powers back. -MrFizyx 00:51, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I am honored by your consideration. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 01:59, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, eugene wrote it. He did, however, ask me to "create" it on Wikipedia -- so you're right about that, after all. My apologies.

As for deletion -- hell, you guys do what you want. I just don't care anymore. The page has been around for a long time without discussion, but ever since I tried to create a page about My Left Wing (since deleted), it's been at issue. So delete it, already. By all mneans, delete it -- I'm certainly not as notable as skippy the bush kangaroo.— Preceding unsigned comment added by MaryscottOConnor (talkcontribs)

Why did you delete my page?[edit]

I posted a short article on a political advocacy group (the Newfoundland and Labrador Defense League) and you deleted it. I can't figure out why - I'm no wiki-addict and don't know what g12, g9 etc etc are. I felt that my entry was unbiased, reasonable and factual. Do you guys just scan pages and delete things randomly or what? Please tell me how I might post an entry about a group that exists and not have it deleted (it has happened twice).

You need to tell me which one - I have no way of knowing. G12 means it was a copyright violation. - CrazyRussian talk/email 15:21, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete all the pages I put up[edit]

It makes no scence why you deleted all the work I did. I put hours of time researching what I added to Wikipedia and you deleted it all. What's wrong with you? Here I thought I was helping and you just spammed me.

Hello! The article on Mehmet Akif College isn't there anymore, I don't know why, so that'd be OK if the logo is deleted. No problem! Thank you for the message by the way!--Albanian since Stone Age 18:19, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

deleted jerusalem links...[edit]

howdy -

i'm not sure why the links to my panoramas of jerusalem were deleted, the photos on the page are of a documentary nature, advertise no commercial services, and show many areas of the old city in detail, as it looks today -

the deletion of my links seems somewhat arbitrary, did you examine my pages content ?

there are many businesses promoted on the jerusalem page, such as gojerusalem.com, as well as the work of other private photographers, photo sites which contain advertising, etc -

why were my photos singled out for deletion ? i am a little new to wiki, but i did not feel adding a virtual tour of Jerusalem to the Jerusalem page was spamming ?

thanks for your time, im sure trying to be a wikipedia "supervisor" is not as much fun as it looks :)

Yisroel Dovid Harfenes[edit]

Hi Crz: Could you verify this article about Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Harfenes in any way? I know it may not be easy, but I have not heard of this person. IZAK 00:45, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you deleting pages that refer to sexual abuse, sexual assault, clergy abuse, etc. or anyone who supports victims of sex crimes?[edit]

These are very important topics. It's almost as if you are supporting sex offenders by your suggesting of removal of these sorts of pages.

jerusalem panoramas...[edit]

hi again -

photography is both my business and my hobby, and my website contains information about my hobby and business, and although i have received payment for shooting panoramas in the past, i consider it more of an (expensive) hobby, and my efforts to document parts of the old city was a purely personal project, which seemed to be well received in general ( see http://vrm.vrway.com/issue25/JERUSALEM_A_VIRTUAL_TOUR_OF_THE_HOLY_CITY.html ), and i have received many emails from people who enjoyed the panoramas of jerusalem, but none of this publicity do i expect to actually bring me work as a location scout :)

i changed my sig to show my name instead of nick, as you advised, sorry if it seemed that the nature of my interest was purely commercial, again, i am a bit new to all this, but, my intent was to share information that i felt would be of general interest, (true, it wouldn't hurt my standing with google any), so if you could take the time to actually examine the removed link in question, (which had in fact been on the page for a few months) perhaps its dis-clusion could be reconsidered ?

thanx again -

sam

Margaret Fishback[edit]

I explained the removal of the redirect command in the talk page and wonder if you read it before reverting my edit. As I said there, Margaret Fishback Antolini, who published under "Margaret Fishback," was a well-published poet and prose writer in the 1930s-1960s and the highest-paid female ad copywriter of the 1930s. She is not the same person as Margaret Fishback Powers, who may or may not have written the "Footprints" poem. I'd appreciate it if you reverted your edit, or at least state your case on my talk page. Thanks. Miss Dark 04:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why certainly not a CSD? 184 ghits and it is a youth tournament. If you were swayed by the mention of Celtic, etc. take a look at the page which is linked on the article. It is the academy teams, not the first teams. Interested to hear your reasoning. Bubba hotep 10:56, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
