Just curious; how did you access the tool necessary to approve the draft? (Your account is old enough to have published the draft on your own -- you don't need to go through AfC or use the tool.) JSFarman (talk) 15:33, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't say that I used the tool to approve the draft. I'd say that I used the instructions under "How to move a page" at [[1]] and moved the page to the "(Articles)" space. I still feel new here. I didn't realize that I could create articles on my own. I felt pushed to the AFC process, but now realize that I can complete a draft and move it to the mainspace. Perhaps my workflow isn't what it should be. Should I remove the AFC tags when I begin new articles? Feedback appreciated. Cteddie1 (talk) 15:44, 26 October 2021 (UTC)cteddie1[reply]

I think you may have stumbled on a bug.
Not 100% suggesting you don't go through AfC. But when you begin a new article there shouldn't be an AfC tag (although I'm not sure, it's been a long time for me). If there is, you can remove it, and move the article from the draft space to the mainspace. (Start it as Draft: SUBJECT or User:Cteddie1/sandbox/subject). JSFarman (talk) 15:52, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My Draft:Adam_Sanders has the tag on it too. Cteddie1 (talk) 15:56, 26 October 2021 (UTC)cteddie1[reply]
LMK if you need help running down the bug. I understand. Cteddie1 (talk) 15:58, 26 October 2021 (UTC)cteddie1[reply]
I removed the draft notice on the Adam Sander article. When you are ready to submit it (if you are submitting it to AfC) just add {{subst: submit}} . (Note that if you don't go through AfC the article will be reviewed by another work group -- WP:NPP -- before it is indexed.
Everytime I get involved in anything technical I end up in trouble. So forget I even mentioned the bug! Glad you are here. Hope you stick around! JSFarman (talk) 17:18, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
