Thank you, Keakealani. Perhaps we can talk sometime. To the editor's comments on "pretensions of perceptions," it is a valid subject of epistemology, it was missing, so I decided to add it. Also, I'm new here and perhaps I did not properly construct the page? I do need help, which is what Keekealani offered, but I'm even confused by how to talk. I will be waiting for comments, thanks. Hi Curtis, I noticed that you created the article Great Ideas of the Western World. I have turned the article into a redirect to A Syntopicon: An Index to The Great Ideas. I am not an expert on these matters and I would be happy to discuss it with you.

Separately, could I ask that you use the syntax ~~~~ only for pages that are not articles as wikipedia articles are a description of the subject and shouldn't have user names within them. Using that syntax on pages such as talk pages is strongly recommended.

Well, to answer that question—this page is your talk page, where other people can leave you messages, and you can, in turn, respond as well. To do this, simply edit this page (like you would a normal article) and add your comments. To edit the page, click on the "edit this page" tab at the top of the page.

It is usually customary to:

Add new messages to the bottom of the page;
Create a new section when you wish to start discussing a new topic
Indent your replies below those of others, using the relevant number of colons, e.g.: :, ::, or :::, etc.

Hi! Me again. The people in #wikipedia-bootcamp are friendly and don't mind helping, but they are likely also busy on Wikipedia itself and, as such, might take a while to notice questions and respond. I don't think I was there when you joined earlier, but I am now, if you want to chat.

Just a few extra notes:

When you add the {{helpme}} tag, please do so on your talk page (this page) and not on the article you need help with. This is not an absolute rule and you won't break anything by doing so, but it helps to keep discussion in one place. Also, placing a {{helpme}} tag in an article will probably just confuse informal visitors.

Xhantar, I didnot realize the factual numbers of references to the subject would be for discussion. It was meant to support the idea that the subject "pretensions of perceptions" was important enough not to delete completely. Would it be different if my own comment did not addend the info? Sorry for the delay in my replying; I got a bit tied up with another editor, but that is now sorted.

Alright! Back to Pretensions of perceptions. The reason the article was proposed for deletion is because another user felt that its subject and/or content (as it now stands) might be more suited for a dictionary (such as Wiktionary, a sister project of Wikipedia) than for an encyclopedia (Wikipedia). You can read the official policy page here: Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a dictionary

However, if you don't agree with this assertion or otherwise object to the article's deletion, feel free to remove the template from the page, but do explain why you don't agree on the article's talk page, and please try to further improve the article by (in this case, specifically) sourcing its content sufficiently.

While doing so, you might consider adding the {{underconstruction}} template to the page, to let other users know that you are busy further expanding/improving the article.
