(followup) Are you sure I can edit the page? When I tried to edit it, the javascript disappeared. When I click "preview", I see the text, but I am not able to make any changes to it. I tried with both Firefox and Chrome, but no luck. --El on ka 01:00, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The difference between local, global, removing from the blacklist vs. adding to the whitelist... Most editors aren't going to be interested in learning all the intricacies, they're just going to want to know the quickest way to get the maintenance template off their page, and right now there seems to be a fair bit of bureaucracy involved. --El on ka 01:50, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Link contains a comment character[edit]

If I may ask, what's with the "Link contains a comment character. Will cause the bot to read the URL incorrectly." entries? That sounds problematic if pages are tagged incorrectly, were you able to fix that?

A # will mark the remainder of a line as a comment. Since some links have a # in them, it will get cut off when the bot processes them. Instead I you can use the wildcard * to have the bot simply ignore every link on that page.—cyberpower ^Chat_{Limited Access} 17:19, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, but having to exclude every page that contains a link with a fragment doesn't sound like a solution, the underlying issue is surely fixable?
