Non-commercial image[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Act_monta_ellis.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Carlosguitar (ready and willing) 12:43, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hi D1291. I've noticed some of your edits to Warriors-related articles, and I wanted to thank you for adding that broadcasting section at Golden State Warriors. However, keep in mind that you cannot protect a page simply by adding the tag to the top of an article. In order to get a page protected, you must go to WP:RPP. However, I don't think articles such as Tim Roye and Jim Barnett are candidates for protection, as they haven't had enough vandalism to warrant it. Also, make sure that all the images you upload aren't copyrighted, you can get into trouble for that here. Please let me know if you have any more questions about Wikipedia. Happy editing. Bash Kash (talk) 08:09, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the protection tags from Monta Ellis for the same reason. Please read my above comment. Bash Kash (talk) 04:58, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jim Barnett[edit]

Please do not create malicious redirects. They are disruptive and are considered vandalism, and have been reverted. Users who continue to create such redirects may be blocked. --Madchester (talk) 06:24, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images, however, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reason, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Please don't upload copyright images from other publications by labeling then as being GDFL. --Madchester (talk) 06:26, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jason Kidd[edit]

Speculative information about the trade is not permitted (Wikipedia:NOT#Wikipedia_is_not_a_crystal_ball). Please wait until the transaction has been officially completed before adding any pertinent details. --Madchester (talk) 06:26, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. --Madchester (talk) 06:40, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Madden NFL 2009, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Jason Kidd[edit]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you add an inappropriate image to a page, as you did to Jason Kidd, you will be blocked from editing.

February 2008[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violations of Wikipedia copyright policy. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. - Philippe | Talk 05:08, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sports radio[edit]

Just so you know, whoever added KZN in Salt Lake City to the list at sports radio actually had the wrong call sign — we already have an article on that station at the title KZNS. Bearcat (talk) 23:28, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
