Anthroposophy article[edit]

Please refrain from further edits to the Anthroposophy article for the time being because a number of the changes you are making are very problematic, while some of your changes are good. Please discuss your changes to the article first on the talk page. Many thanks. --EPadmirateur (talk) 21:49, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the changes you have made are simply not factual, for example names of publishers of books. Please check these - this is easy to do - before placing them in an encyclopedia. Hgilbert (talk) 22:52, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have been an anthroposophical librarian and bookseller for 22 years; I think I know my publishers... Further, I know Henri Bortoft, and he was indeed a physics teacher in a boys' boarding school (Tonbridge). Da nurky (talk) 00:29, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A problem with changing the cited publisher of books is that only non-anthroposophically published sources are allowed as references in these articles. So if a book is published by Floris Books, it is not allowed as a reference but if there is an edition published by Penguin Books, it is. So we need to cite the Penguin Books edition. See the arbitration rulings on these articles for more information.
I have met Henri Bortoft as well. I would say that his description as a physicist is more apt for this article (provided it is accurate), even if he was a physics teacher.
The other major problems with your changes include changing the spelling from American to British, which, once the spelling standard is established for an article, is not to be done (see the Wikipedia Manual of Style: Retaining the existing variety). The more important problem is that a number of your changes tend to make the article reflect a non-neutral point of view. This is also not allowed, since it is an encyclopedia article, not a brochure promoting anthroposophy.
Overall we appreciate a new editor who can add additional viewpoints and correct the wording or terminology of the article. We take your additions as good faith efforts. I'm sure quite a number of your editorial changes will remain in the article. --EPadmirateur (talk) 00:14, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the changed publishers are certainly wrong; for example, though Floris Books stocks McDermott's book, they list it as published by Lindisfarne Books. Please double-check the other publishers you have changed; a number of them seem similarly questionable. Similarly, you edited a quotation ("raised" instead of "raise"; whatever your grammatical preferences, quotations should remain true to the original source.

Also, please sign your name with four tildes (~~~~) on talk pages to identify your contributions! The above welcome tells some places to get some basic information about editing, by the way; well worth a browse.

If you have questions, you can email me directly through my wikipedia email. I probably won't see Sam any time soon, by the way, we live about 7,000 miles from one another! Best wishes, Hgilbert (talk) 01:13, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anthroposophy article[edit]

I am rather concerned that, in "Reception of anthroposophy" – "Notable supporters", it is implied that Saul Bellow and Andrej Belyj were 'outside of the movement'; this is not the case. Particularly Belyj belonged to the core of the Russian artists around Rudolf Steiner. His impulse must be seen as intrinsic to the development of anthroposophy and he played his part within not outwith the movement… (See his book 'Verwandeln des Lebens' (Zbinden Verlag) (Da nurky (talk) 02:32, 18 March 2008 (UTC)) Bellow did not make his relation so explicit but, according to the British anthroposophist and Steiner/Waldorf teacher Rudi Lisau, who was a close friend, he was far from "outside of the movement"…(Da nurky (talk) 02:35, 18 March 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Josef Beuys article[edit]

why does the conspiracy to deny by silence the work of anthroposophy include not mentioning Josef Beuys' work with Steiner's ideas? (Da nurky (talk) 02:47, 18 March 2008 (UTC))[reply]
