More FLC conflicts

I see you're busy with other issues, but there are pressing matters at FLC for you or TRM to handle (I assume he's watching). I have supports at four FLCs, including the current bottom three, that are almost ready for a decision. Either TRM (he also supported one of them) or yourself should handle these closures if possible, as it is better for the process if I recuse myself after supporting. Thanks. Watch The Throne unprotection request

I believe there is now enough information available about Watch The Throne to unprotect its article. Jay-Z has posted an official track list on his blog, they have revealed the album cover, and a single (H.A.M.) has been released for a while now. I have also seen a few articles on the background and history of the album. I'm asking that you at least reassess whether or not there is enough information to unprotect. Request regarding the Joss Ackland article

Hello Dabomb87. Last month you protected this article Joss Ackland (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) due to numerous IP's attempting to insert unsourced info. Well it looks like activity is starting to pick up again. Today this new IP 173.99.127.162 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) attempted to insert the same unsourced info from last month and one minute later 71.10.61.68 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) began edited the article again. This 71 IP has been the main one editing in this situation but there have been several others. They all seem to geolocate to Kansas so I suspect that these are the same person(s). I don't think that there are any admin actions to be taken at the moment but I would like to request that you put Joss Ackland's article on your watchlist. Normally, I wouldn't request this but several days worth of lightening storms in my neighborhood have left me internet connection a bit dodgy and I would like to know that other eyes are watching the situation if I can't. Pre review of FLC

Hi. I see you are one of the people in charge of FL candidates. I haven't done one before and was wondering if you'd take an early look at List of stutterers and see if you can let me know at least the obvious fixes. One thing I'm not sure of from looking at FLs is how much to link in the comments column. Per responses to my query at Talk:FLC, I used List of Washington & Jefferson College alumni as an example. Looks pretty good at a brief glance. Couple things: 1) we don't start the lead with the phrase "This is a list..." anymore. Just jump right into it and explain the disorder (see List of people with hepatitis C as an example). 2) The tables with BC dates in the "Lifetime" columns will need sortkeys (such as {{dts}}) to sort properly. 3) I didn't look at every source, but ensure that printed publications are italicized, and more importantly, that you are using the highest-quality sources, especially those relating to living people. For example, I'm not sure since I don't speak German, but this source appears to be a blog. Hope this helps, and good luck at FLC. Dabomb87 (talk) 04:14, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Depends on what you're citing. The terms of use claims that the site has been "mentioned in numerous publications, among them the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, and The Guardian." I know, I was referring to the type of information you're referencing. I probably wouldn't use the site for any high-level analysis or contentious material about a living person, but if you're verifying that the film received certain accolades, that's probably fine. TFA in two paragraphs?

Wikipedia:Today's featured article/July 20, 2011, at the time of writing, is in two paragraphs, which is the first time I have seen this at TFA. Looking at the edit history, you scheduled it as one paragraph but it's been split into two. "Suggested formatting" instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions specifically state one paragraph, but I have no idea whether they are set in stone or writ in water. IP hopper 220.156.10.xxx repeatedly vandalizing pages.

Hi there, I previous made a request for page protection [2] which was declined but you did offer to keep the page on your watchlist. The same vandal now appears to be attacking another similar page (articles of Chinese dramas produced by Mediacorp), wit a similar MO (introducing science fiction/fantasy elements into contemporary drama articles) which you can see from the edit histories [3]. His edit histories imply a past history wth me which I assume to be from the previous report. I could be wrong, but it seems too much of a coincidence. Seeking your assistance on tnis, especially in removing his edit summaries which are quite "unfriendly" to put it mildly, thanks. Zhanzhao (talk)|

Request to unprotect

Can you unprotect Anders Behring Breivik. I understand you originally protected it over the redirect edit war. The dispute was escalated to a redirect proposal, that ended in hung consensus. Can I get your opinion on this

Hi again! I would love to nominate this article for FLC ( List of awards and nominations received by Kid Cudi ) but I'm a bit worried that some might oppose it as the list of Kid Cudi's nominations isn't that big (i.e might strongly suggest the noms be merged in with his article). So do you think it has enough to warrant its own article and be nominated for FL?

I can't say for sure, but usually awards lists of that size have been looked down upon at FLC. For example, List of awards and nominations received by Fiona Apple was delisted and Fiona had 18 nominations at the time the FLRC closed. Dabomb87 (talk) 03:48, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Dabomb87, Template:Use dmy dates appears be adding extra line spacing to articles onto which it is transcluded. I see that you have admin rights and have made some edits to that template in the past. User:Xcbxcbasfs Persistent sockpuppetry, vandalism. What to do?

This guy has a long documented history of sock-puppetry and vandalism on this one page: Columbia University School of General Studies. He deletes, removes, and ignores any evidence provided that would counter his deliberate lies. He recently got blocked, but he has started immediately since the block was raised. Plus, this page has been fully protected before because of him. Any solution to this problem? (Apparently he got rejected from the school.) --Petersonsboard (talk) 18:35, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Book spam

Hi, Dabomb87. Per your comments here, please be aware of this and this. If you look at the history of the article, this has been going on for months. They've used two different accounts plus multiple IPs, they consistently refuse to engage in any discussion, and they just keep coming back. The post to the talk page today—their first—is nothing more than thinly veiled promotional copy for their book. Semi-protection would be much appreciated. I guess I could also go to SPI. Update: They've ~~rolled out an older sock that I wasn't aware of, to get past the autoconfirmed barrier, and~~ added the spam content again. I don't have time to mess with SPI today; I've never requested that, and I want to do it right.
