Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jesse Cale

I have a question about two of the tags in my infobox:

1) I inserted the tag that was created by the upload wizard (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard) when I uploaded the image jessecale.jpg.

But now, at the top of the infobox above the picture there is this random code: [[File:|frameless|alt=|]]

How do I make that go away?

2) I created a tag for birth date according to your instructions:

birth_date = {{May 19th, 1990 (age 22)|1990|05|19}}

But in the infobox, the result looks like this: Template:May 19th, 1990 (age 22)

Why is the word Template and a : appearing there? How do i fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Question 1: In an infobox, you don't need to put [[File:]] etc. around the image name. You just put the name of the file, in this case, "jessecale.jpg". In the image parameter, take out everything that isn't just the name of the file.
Question 2: So, if you surround things in curly braces, that means you're trying to insert a template. There's no template called "May 19th, 1990 (age 22)". You're probably looking for the template called {{birth date and age}} which needs to be entered exactly like this: {{birth date and age|1990|05|19}} and it will generate something that looks like what you meant to have there. You should use the template because that will automatically update the age when he has a birthday.
Hope that helps! —Darkwind (talk) 17:43, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
