Your reversal at Alexander I of Russia[edit]
First, (as I hinted at in my summary) the marriage took place on October 9th 1793 (=September 28, according to the Russian calendar of that time) which by any sort of mathematics means that he was only 15 when he got married. That is also the way it is stated in the article on his wife. Second, we have a language problem perhaps caused by the fact that you do not know where Alexander was when his father got killed (or murdered). "He insisted that his father would not be killed" is quite different in meaning from "He insisted that his father should not be killed". Your sentence means that he was among the perpetrators but promised somebody (whomever) that his father will not be killed. In fact, he was not there - may have known what was about to happen - and some who believe that he knew, claim that he asked for his father not to be killed. Alexander was found by one of the conspirators while on his knees in front of his wife's bed, praying - and then told "Stop acting like a child and go and govern!" I agree that some elucidation may be in order - part of the text has been written by Russians who know all of this too well and suppose everybody else knows. I actually intend to edit this article exhaustively, based on the biography of Alexander I by the French historian Troyat (I recently bought the book). --Pan Gerwazy 12:00, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. Hi, that would be true if Celebrations didn't indeed have their own article. They are a high-profile (in the UK and Europe at least) selection of miniatures, and Mars, Incorporated's highest grossing variety product. Rather than removing the sentence (again) and saying that you don't even know what Celebrations are, you could have just clicked on the link. That's what internal Wikilinks are provided for. Problem with your custom signature[edit]
You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.
The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.
The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.
- Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
- Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
