August 2012

Hello, I'm DamianZaremba. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made to abc123, because it didn't appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! - Damian Zaremba (talkcontribs) 23:45, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello!

I think you might be the person for the job here :)

Someone left a message on ClueBot's talk page about an error that the bot made. It looks like what's happened is that the bot has edited an article at the same time as another user, the other user reverted the vandalism, ClueBot added the vandalism back in and then warned the user who'd reverted the vandalism for vandalising the page! When ClueBot did that it reverted the page to a revision that was making serious allegations about members of staff at a school so I've now deleted ClueBot's reversion from the public archives. However there's a suggestion on ClueBot's talk page that there may be a timing error with the bot?--5 albert square (talk) 22:47, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

I'll try and take a look at this over the weekend - from memory it may be correct, I *think* under certain circumstances the bot could revert the wrong article. It should only try and revert the revision id that gets scanned, however - it's possible it just triggered a false positive. Will require a bit of log digging to figure out what happended :) - Damian Zaremba (talkcontribs) 22:03, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
No problem, I could only assume it was because an editor edited at the exact same time ClueBot did. I wondered if the bot got itself confused and undid the wrong edit :), thought I should mention it though in case it's a serious issue.--5 albert square (talk) 23:47, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
