ClueBot NG Run page

Hey Damian!

I've noticed recently that User:ClueBot NG/Run is getting much more vandalism than it normally does by people changing the page to 'false'. I notice the protection level is currently set to block all new and unregistered users but it now seems to be registered users doing this. I'm wondering would you like the page protection changed to block everyone but non-admin users, even if just for a little while? I know this would block people like yourself and MTCD from accessing the page but I'm wondering if locking it fully even just for a while would be more beneficial to the encyclopedia? Better that than the bot being turned off if you ask me. Cobi doesn't seem to have been online much recently which is why I'm asking you.--5 albert square (talk) 21:01, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

That's probably a good idea - I've actually been thinking about removing the page fully, as if an admin did want to disable the bot they would most likely just block the account anyway. - Damian Zaremba (talkcontribs) 10:01, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
No probs, I'll go do that now. If you need it unlocked just ping me a message or email. I'll try a week in the first instance, hopefully the editors will get bored in that time lol! :)--5 albert square (talk) 02:34, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

False positives

Hey again Damian!

Do you know what's happening with ClueBot's false positive page at the minute? A lot of editors posting at User talk:ClueBot Commons saying that the false positive page is broken and they obviously then can't report their false positives. The trouble is that they're then posting the false positives on the above talk page, not only will it clog up the talk page, instead of the false positive being reported it will just be filed away by ClueBot III!--5 albert square (talk) 03:43, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

It's some weird bug that causes the database to not be filled in properly, I've not had enough time to track it down and fix all the previous edits yet. Was hoping to re-write the report/review side of things but was holding off until ops implemented OAUTH/some form of auth so it would actually behave sensibly. I'll have a look over the logs and see if I can figure something out before the end of the week. - Damian Zaremba (talkcontribs) 09:58, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Yeah the mysql server drops the connection and doesn't reconnect properly causing the escaping to fail and blank data to get inserted :( I'll get a fix sorted for it then try and back fill the db. Apologies - Damian Zaremba (talkcontribs) 10:03, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Shifted the mysql reconnect check above the code that builds the query so there is an active connection for the escaping. Hopefully it should work when the link drops now, I'll have to sort the db later when I get in from work. Not sure about the captcha, it was working but I'll check. - Damian Zaremba (talkcontribs) 10:10, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Hello, dunno if it's related but someone has been posting on ClueBot's page that they're having trouble reviewing the dataset? User talk:ClueBot Commons #Error when attempting to review dataset I tried the link they gave as well and I'm having the same problem.--5 albert square (talk) 21:58, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
