{{helpme}} Hi everyone - It's been quite some time since I did anything here at Wikipedia. I started working on a new article and noticed a lot of the things I wanted to cross-link do not currently exist in Wikipedia either. This may turn into a bigger project than I suspected.

You may want to check with Wikipedia:WikiProject Food and drink, they should have more input on general structure guidelines for a restaurant articles. Some basic fixes would be

Drop the == The Yardley Inn Restaurant & Bar == header, the intro doesn't need a header.
Convert the history and other sections to use the headers (==History== instead of the bolding '''History''' )
The links to other wikipedia articles should be formatted like [[Zagat]]-rated to produce Zagat-rated and doesn't need the full URL.
Remove the gallery, images should be spread out throughout the article where appropriate, See Wikipedia:Image use policy
The main issue is there don't seem to be anything to establish the subjects WP:Notability, this restaurant doesn't appear to have won any awards, and doesn't have any references for where the restaurant was written about in a significant way (outside of just a basic review).

Can anyone tell me how to include external hyperlinks (such as http://www.michenermuseum.org/bucksartists/artist.php?artist=359) in articles? Also, how do you link to a wiki article that does not have the same exact title as the words you want to link it to?

{{helpme}} is a template, and needs to be spelled exactly the same (in this case the ! threw it off).

As for hyperlinks, if you just put in the hyperlink, it looks like http://www.michenermuseum.org/bucksartists/artist.php?artist=359. If you want to give it a pretty name, format it like [http://www.michenermuseum.org/bucksartists/artist.php?artist=359 pretty name] and it will look like pretty name. Finally, enclosing it just in square brackets makes it look like this: [1].

To link to a wiki article with a different name, use the | character to separate the name of the page you want to go to from the text that you want to show, like [[Main Page|Home]] shows up as Home.

Go for it[edit]

I encourage you to add what you have, especially information sources. I doubt that anyone is mad - nobody has tried to have the article deleted yet, and most editors have their first attempt at an article deleted. Continue to add/edit material, watch what other editors do, and ask questions. We don't expect new users to know all of the rules, and we try not to bite new users.

Let me know if you have any questions as you work on the article. I have it on my watchlist (and other editors may too), which I check every couple of hours when I'm around. It's looking good. I took some of the external links that you had in the article and turned them into footnoted references by adding <ref> markup. I then added the references section at the bottom of the article. I am not as good as I should be about formatting references. There's a guideline at Wikipedia:Citing sources if you want to look at it.

The more third party reliable sources that you can find on Diana Vincent, the better the article will be. Do you know of any newspaper or magazine stories that have been done on her or interviews with her? ~ Bigr Tex 02:24, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References, Guidelines, Next steps[edit]

There are a lot of guidelines. Don't worry about learning them all. One of the basic ones (known as the 5 Pillars) is Ignore all rules which I interpret as: as don't stress about the nit-picky details if it would stop you from your work to improve the article(s) you work on. Try to give as much information as possible about things like references, and someone will come along and clean it up if it is important to do so - or if it is something they enjoy doing.

As for the magazine articles and interviews, I would suggest listing ones that you know on the discussion/talk page of the article - at least name and issue, but page number and/or article name would also help. If you can put your hands on a couple of them, especially ones that mention the two awards shows, then add <ref> tags like I did to the ones already in the article with the information about the article (publication name and issue). Verifiability is one of Wikipedia's three core content policies - it basically boils down to that if in X years someone else wants to make sure the content of the article is true and we aren't around, they should be able to find the old issue of Vogue and verify the content.

I'm happy to continue helping with formatting and explanations. It's fun watching articles gel. Eventually, you may want to try to bring the article up to Good or Featured status (Wikipedia:Compare Criteria Good v. Featured) although many editors, including myself, never have. If something like that is of interest to you, I think the next thing to think about after references would be to get an image for the page. I checked your block log and there is no trace of a block. I assume someone with your IP address vandalized Wikipedia and you got caught in crossfire (It's called an auto-block). Commercial use of Image:DVStore DSC0083 .jpg[edit]

Hello, I am working on a pet project to help digitize information about the field of metalsmithing+jewelry. I started with making a page for Art jewelry forum (AJF), and have a list of artists that I would like to make pages for as well. The AJF page has been nominated for deletion because it is questioned if the organization is "notable". I am reaching out to you because I saw that you edited some pages that relate to studio craft, and thought you may have an informed opinion (unlike the mathematician who nominated the page for deletion) about whether or not it is a "notable organization".
