Using 9-11 to promote your own far left idealsWILL NOT BE TOLERATED! please don't do it again or it will earn you an indefinite ban —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 172.144.50.56 (talkcontribs).

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my thoughts and questions. I asked this question because of the respect I have for so many of the Wikipedians. It is good to receive feedback on ideas, and I value having my ideas challenged.

Nothing I have ever written, so far, actually shows far left or even left ideas. As I understand Republicans value law and good forign policy, which is all I referred to. I don't think I have used 9-11, as you call that tragedy, to expediate anything but have challenged the use of it toward the expediation of other's interests. I value your comment but it sounds like you are saying, 'What you say is what you are!'. I would speculate that the only reason you have to suggest that I am 'far left' is that I have questioned a leader of the right. Don't worry, I try to question everything, even myself.

Why are so many on the far right fearful of being questioned? I would say that to threaten, as you have me, or use violence, displays the actor's sensation of threat. Why do you feel so vulnerable? I have come from a 'right wing' background and have been trying to exercise thought from many postions on the spectrum, however, there are a couple of things that keep occurring to me. Response from the right generally runs in the accord you have expressed above . . .

1. "what you say is what you are" 2. "I will not tolerate" 3. and then issue "some type of threat"

I would like, perhaps, to follow my backgroud, however, all I hear from the right is dumbing down, intolorace, circular arguments, threatening tactics, prosperity protectionary post action justifications and fear.

I look forward to being able to challenge my position when I find the opportunity to learn from intelligent people from the rightish side of politics who show thought and not just responses from old schoolyard adages. I consider myself still in a learning phase not ready to settle on either side, but comments like yours only reaffirm my growing perception of the 'right.' danieljames

Hi![edit]

Wow, that message took me by surprice, a pleasent one! Thanks for your encouragement :)

Regarding 9/11, i have also tried to make the pages more NPOV, but its seems pretty hard. Try reading the talk page of the 9/11 attacks, i have been trying since archive 13 (?), and even wrote People questioning the 9/11 Commission Report after geting tired of people calling the 9/11 truth movement as insignificant in size. Peace! --Striver 01:57, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Keep in mind the anonymous user at the top of the page was falsely stating policy. You will not be indefinitely banned for trying to edit in Good faith. They on the other hand are putting themselves at risk by launching personal attacks on other users. Ansell 01:40, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New Challenge for Oceania and Australia[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
