Welcome![edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! — Diannaa (talk) 15:34, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

September 2023[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Reactions to the murder of George Floyd, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Noting that you were previously reverted for citing what appears to be your own work. Fun Is Optional (talk page) (please ping on reply) 02:20, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your note! I am well aware of Wikipedia's policy against original research, but what I posted as NOT original research, but a factual, uncontroversial statement based on a publication in a reputable peer reviewed journal. Everyone with any idea of this subject matter would agree with what I wrote. I am also puzzled that journalistic articles, which often contain many errors and inaccurate information, seem to be absolutelty fine for Wikipedia, but publications in peer reviewed academic journals are problematic? That makes no sense at all. Sorry for my rant. Danielk24 (talk) 16:36, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
