Copyright & Essays[edit]

  1. Regarding copyright issues; the bot message above should be relatively self-explanatory about what to do in these cases (3rd point). You can imagine the number of claims that come in as to "I own the (c) to this", or "I got permission to publish..." - these all need to be verified by the actual owner through the foundation Wikimedia Foundation. It is not Wikipedia's responsibility to e-mail every claimant of (c) items, it the uploader's responsibility to prove their claim through the proper channels.
  1. Regarding Essays & Original Research; you may want to read about the non-use of this type of material at No Personal essays, A place to post copies of items from other websites, and also Soapbox.

If your essay wasn't deleted for the first reason, it would definitely have been deleted for the second reason. SkierRMH (talk) 17:29, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
