European Wildlife[edit]

Dear Danny, welcome to wikipedia; and thanks for adding European Wildlife. While I know you just started the article and probably will add things later, allow me to give 2 comments (an urgent, and a less urgent one). The urgent one is about copyright: much of the info in the page is directly copied from the webpage of the organization. That is not allowed on wikipedia; please see WP:copyvio for info on how to use information from a source without directly copying it. You could possibly rephrase to: according to their website, the goals of the organization are to "direct citation".
My second concern is not immediate. On wikipedia not every organization, not even every organization that someone things is very important, can be added. It can only stay if it is notable. If you read Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), you'll find much advice in evaluating IF the org. is notable, and how to show HOW it is notable with secondary sources. The easiest way to add a source is by placing this form :<ref>[http://www.thewebsite.com the text you want to appear]</ref> with at the bottom of the page the text :{{reflist}}.
Should you have any questions or need help, you can ask them on this page, and I will see if I can answer them. If you think the subject is NOT notable, let me know here as well, and I will help with asking for deletion. Enjoy editing! L.tak (talk) 16:15, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on European Wildlife requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Shovon (talk) 16:22, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

December 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from European Wildlife, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Shovon (talk) 16:51, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with European Wildlife. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Triwbe (talk) 17:13, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He Danny, every start hard... Just a little hand on what to do with the deletion discussion. You placed correctly {{hangon}} with a comment, and then removed that again. Indeed the {{hangon}} was correctly placed, and I have restored it and have put your comments at talk. The arguments and discussion now should take place at Talk:European Wildlife. If you had clicked the red link, you can place the info there; and the page will be started. You can always see this talk page by clicking the Talk-button as the tab in the upper left corner of the wikipedia page.
I noticed btw your contesting is very general. Please provide reliable sources in that talk page (as linked above at notability of organizations in my comment) that show this organization is notable. If you just add a general rational (large organization) without sources, the page is still likely to be removed. Again, have fun! L.tak (talk) 17:16, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

sa[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I decided to place an {{underconstruction}} tag on it that should give you a day or two to rewrite the article. The advice given above by L.tak is very good advice: You need to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases You also need to write like an encyclopedia article, not a press release--don't praise yourself, say what you do. Don't talk about the overall importance of the subject--talk about what you do. And, do not copy from a web site -- first it's a copyright violation, but, even if you give us permission according to WP:DCM, the tone will not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. If you decide that you can not at present improve the article cannot meet the standards, you can facilitate matters by placing at the top a line reading : {{db-author}} & it will be deleted, with no prejudice to another try when you have more material. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page European Wildlife has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.youtube.com/EuropeanWildlife/. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 08:32, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article European Wildlife has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article fails to establish the notability of the organization concerned.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Shovon (talk) 16:19, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of European Wildlife for deletion[edit]

The article European Wildlife is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/European Wildlife until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. L.tak (talk) 09:23, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on European Wildlife, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. that's not it...[edit]

He Danny, I understand you are disappointed about the article being deleted. But it is not because we don't like nature! Even stronger, I am still willing to help you make the article, if you think it can stand WP:RS. Please reply here with sources (websites books from independent reliable sources) and I will help you set it up in your userspace and it won't get deleted. However, several people have asked you, and you have never come up with such things... Again, it is not too late, just put the sources andyour arguments here below, and we'll see what we can do! L.tak (talk) 15:21, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

and reading your edit on articles for deletion: no facebook etc doesn't count, a national newspaper (even if it is not english) having this organization as its main subject (and not copying a press release), would do. If you have 2 of such sources, you're in! L.tak (talk) 15:25, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear L.tak, thank you for your message. The main problem is, that I don´t know, how to answer to somebody (today I accidentally deleted page, when I try to answer. I´m sorry). Is there something as e-mail contacts of editors? Because if I want to answer, I´m only editing page. : - ( Thank you for advice, I will write here some independent sources of information.

well, it's just the same as with editing an article. Just click edit and add your comment. If you want it to move a bit more to the right (as I have done now), just start with a ":". And you can sign your comments by simply typing "~~~~" (the tilde is next to the "1"on the keyboard). If you place the links here, I think we can sort something out; emailing is also possible, but not for everyone and it requires a verified account. And you can always come back to this page by clicking "My talk" at the top of the page. Hope that helps... L.tak (talk) 16:04, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And as for email, you have currently not enabled it. In preferences, then scrolling down, you can add an email address, indicate you are open to email from wikipedians, and validate it. Then, when you go to my talk page (User talk:L.tak), you can click on (email user) in the menu to the left. But also I have never done that before... L.tak (talk) 18:30, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. There are some links about EW:

Thanks for these additions, I had a look at them today. The link to justice.cz and europa.eu is a good proof that the organization exists and is owner of the trademark. It is however needed to have reliable sources on the notability (from a Wikipedia perspective!!!) and for that this is not enough. The wikia sites are wiki's to which info can be added to anyone; and therefore it is not a reliable source (you are even an editor in 1 of them). The dingdingpals site comes the closest as it is extensive, not-copied from press release (I guess), but still it seems to be the personal website of a single person and therefore seems not notable. If I look at the things the wildlife foundation promises, it must have lots of news items etc form newspapers in the next years. My suggestion is to wait a bit until that happens, and then to add the article again. Reread Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) carefully before you re-add so you are sure notability can be established. Sorry I can not be of more help for now, regarding this article; there is however much more to do and to edit on wikipedia ;-) L.tak (talk) 11:42, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Thank you very much for your message. It was the first step. I hope, it will be over in a few weeks. Once more thank you for your time. To be continue... :- ) DW

Hello, I have two new links. I hope, they will OK. Thanks for your time. DW

Orphaned non-free image File:European Wildlife.svg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:European Wildlife.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of European wildlife, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://wikibin.org/articles/european-wildlife.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Danny talk: Yes, but it is copied from Wikipedia!!! This article was here last year, now it is supplemented and expanded. You could see it at the history of this post. Please check it and delete this warning. Because now I look like a thief, but it is my own article, which was published at Wikipedia first!!! And now it is copied at many wiki sites around the world.

Fair use rationale for File:European Wildlife.svg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:European Wildlife.svg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Acather96 (talk) 08:16, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Who can help me?[edit]

{{adminhelpme}} Dear editors. I have a question. Please, could you describe me, why my article European Widlife was deleted again? All errors, what it had last year, I corrected now. It had all attributes you required. But the result is the same. The article was deleted. It is incomprehensible to me. Could you help me please? Thank you very much. I think, it could be deleted automatically, and after you find, it is OK, it will be published. Can you confirm, this is correct idea? Thank you again. Non-admins cannot see the deleted page, so I've changed that {{helpme}} to an {{adminhelp}} - so they can check the old article, and the previous one, and advise you.  Chzz  ►  14:00, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm discussing the issue with the deleting admin—there may have been a misunderstanding. I've untranscluded the helpme request so that it doesn't show up as an active request. GorillaWarfare talkcontribs 16:25, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As I suspected, it was a mistake. The deleting administrator thought that the Wikipedia article was a copyright violation because it contained the same text as an article on another website. In fact, the other website was the one mirroring Wikipedia. The page has been restored. GorillaWarfare talkcontribs 02:55, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

He Danny, Sorry for not looking at your sources for some time; I just delayed may reply until I forgot... Anyway, you were handeled unjustly with the removal under copyviolation rules, so it is good it was restored in your userspace. I just now saw it was also in main space again. I feel the sources are still (too?) weak with respect to the notability guidelines above (no independent source which talks specifically on the organization, they speak specifically about some projects... and they are not newspaper-like), but I feel I have been looking at it too much to be fully indepedent/uninvolved, so I will not ask again for deletion. This message is however an encouragement to add more reliable sources as soon as they appear, as that would be a clear improvement.
A second thing is that now the links are not inline references. I will format one tonight to show you how to do it (it is not that hard), so you can clearly link statements to things present in the sources. For basic facts it is also no problem to use the website of the organization as a source.. Anyway, good luck! L.tak (talk) 14:28, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
