Good evening (GMT time); pending my current nomination to the Mediation Committee, I have offered to mediate an unassigned case, Wikipedia:RfM/Jews for Jesus 2, in order to demonstrate my abilities as a dispute resolution catalyst.

The case, as I have mentioned, is currently unassigned and I would be more than happy to mediate the case on behalf of the committee; however, I would prefer not to proceed until a current Med Com mediator has approved. Therefore, if you have a spare moment, I'd be grateful if you accept or reject my request to mediate the case.

Cheers and regards,

Good morning (GMT time); further to your invitation on my talk page on 8/1/07 (d) to come to you for any questions; I was wondering if I am to operate as a member of the mediation committee in the case, regarding closing stale cases (or rejecting case if parties haven't agreed after 7 days)?

Cheers and regards,

wilhelm reich mediation[edit]

hello daniel,

nearly two weeks ago i left a message on the wilhelm reich mediation page.

I'd ask you to take the trouble and review the pretty long edit war and discussions of that case which by now stretches over more than half a year.

--Nescio* 20:43, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Roach Mediation/Ramachandran/Ekajati/Hanuman Das Sockpuppetry[edit]

Since Ramachandran as well as Hunuman Das are sockpuppets of Ekajati and all "three" take a similar, inflexible position on the subject being mediated (as well as the same issue on other sites regarding critical information), there is now more than enough evidence to disprove the assumption of good faith by A Ramachandran in the mediation, as Diamondwather was far from alone in suspecting to be the case. Not being bound by mediation, I am therefore reposting the link which this "trio" objected to and will assertively maintain it since "Ramachandran's" position was only that of one editor and was disputed by a majority of editors, since it appears the mediation with a blocked sockpuppet can be considered essentially moot. This is the latest on the sockpuppetry allegation:

User:Ekajati Suspected sockpuppeteer Ekajati (talk • contribs • page moves • block user • block log)

Suspected sockpuppets Chai Walla (talk • contribs • page moves • block user • block log) Baba Louis (talk • contribs • page moves • block user • block log)

Report submission by --Pigmantalk • contribs 01:58, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Evidence Ekajati (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) is under a two month ban for sockpuppetry. Currently confirmed sockpuppets of Ekajati are Hanuman Das (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log), A Ramachandran (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log), and Tunnels of Set (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log). Hanuman Das changed his account name and was previously under the user name Adityanath (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log). While still under the Adityanath account, two accounts were found to be sockpuppets of the Adityanath account: Baba Louis (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) and Chai Walla (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log). See here for findings.

Since Hanuman Das is a sockpuppet of Ekajati, then accounts found to be sockpuppets of Hanuman Das are therefore socks of Ekajati.

As of 1/29/2007, Chai Walla is working on Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath [1]. This means Ekajati is using this sock to evade the ban.

Please help ... O' Wise One![edit]

Hi Daniel,

I have read the: "Wikipedia:Guide to deletion|guide to deletion" ... and am still unclear as to when the Deletion discussion will end and hopefully) remove those sad, ugly This article is being considered for deletion ..." notes on all of my articles. How do I do that? I would like to start adding photos etc., but I want to wait till this is resolved.

Here is a quick history (incase it helps) ...

(all completely rewritten)

Shields Pictures, Inc., which is an exact duplicate of Shields Pictures ----------------------------- (I removed this one immediately, it's gone!) Speaking of Animals Unusual Occupations Popular Science Historic Film Series

I wrote User:Mikeblas (he was the user who (justly) started the whole Deletion discussion) and asked him to take a look at my extensive rewrites and see if I have addressed everyones concerns.

I didn't hear back so I went hunting for help... and found you. I then took your advice (thanks) and wrote a note on the Talk: page.

"Sorry for starting on such a bad foot. I rewrote most of the text so that it is neutral in tone and unique to Wikipedia (an administrator helped clarify Wikipedia's copyright concerns to me, fully understandable). I have also done the same on "Popular Science Historic Film Series," "Unusual Occupations" and "Shields Picture, Inc." (some work on the "Jerry Fairbanks" article as well). I also did my best to cleanup the inventory lists and random links (as requested) on all three film series, and added many facts and dates. I have also I have done my best to de-PR them as well, and am now getting some help from the Wikipedia adoption program. Please let me know what else I can do to make these strong Wikipedia Articles. Once I get the OK, I'd like to add some photos (a 1943 picture of Bob Hope presenting Jerry Fairbanks with one of his Academy Awards, a photo of the Coat of Arms/Shield MGM prop from the 1952 film "The Bad and the Beautiful" that is referenced in the Shields Pictures, Inc. article, and a photo or two from each of the film libraries. Should I get approval of these pictures before I add them? Thanks for the help, CCBear 23:39, 4 March 2007 (UTC)"

Then User:Mikeblas wrote a very nice note...

"I think the comments you made at the "article for deletion" discussion are quite appropriate, and shaping up the articles really helps. I expect the AfD discussion will result in keeping the articles, particularly now that you've improved their content."

So I was thrilled ... and I have been waiting for a decision and hopefully a removal of those notices ... but the discussion has seemed to stop ... the last comment from the editing users was, February 27th - I then wrote my note on March 4th - and still nothing. I think I'm the only one left in the discussion ...

What am I supposed to do to now ... oh wise one ;-)

Cheers, CCBear 18:57, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your WP:ADOPT summary states that you help out in dispute resolution. If you're ready for a challenging assignment you may want to touch base with BabyDweezil. This editor requested adoption several days ago but has not yet gotten a mentor and is restricted from posting direct solicitations to adopters' user pages due to a community ban. BabyDweezil has appealed the ban to ArbCom at WP:RFAR#Request_to_review_indefinite_block_of_User:BabyDweezil and at this time the Committee is 6-3 in favor of hearing the case.

I supported the community ban, noted that BabyDweezil raises some legitimate issues in the appeal request, and recommended that this editor seek a mentor. Now I am posting to several mentors who specialize in dispute resolution and are willing to take on adoptees in the hope that one of you can help this user. My Wikimood -10  :-([edit]

Hi Daniel,

This is a quick note to say thank you and goodbye.

I truly appreciate your time and attention and am sorry to say that I'm just not up for the emotional rollercoaster ride of rewriting my articles to the satisfaction of some editors only to have other editors pile-on with entirely new concerns and, on several occasions, promote hostile, arrogant and rude comments. I have been very careful to be polite and deferentional and open minded in all of my correspondence and have reached out to people like you that I could see have some real Wiki-credentials.

I thought I had something unique to offer Wikipedia by adding articles about Jerry Fairbanks and his three most notable film series. In his day Fairbanks was an important filmmaker (cinematographer, director/producer, inventor and a real ground-breaker in the early film and television industry) and I thought he was an ideal subject for a Wikipedia entry (he and his film series are all important historically as well as culturally and all in different ways) but they are not really covered in Wikipedia. I thought I'd start here and then (once I learned the art of Wiki-writing) move on to other film topics that interest me, but I guess I'm just not up for the challenge of trying to please so many people.

My entry for Shields Pictures (the company Jerry Fairbanks personally selected to preseve, protect and promote his legacy and life's work) was actually called "rubbish" by an editor. Rubbish? I've asked the owner of Shields to address this and hopefully they will post some manner of response/rebuttal as I feel ill-equiped to reply.

I was just about to undertake a complete and accurate entry covering several early animation series (I am well acquanited with a notable animation expert who has offered to help me in this underatking) but since all my work and writings (and numerous rewrites) for all 3 Fairbanks film series has now been completely deleted I don't see the point in continuing.

I just wanted to thank you for your patience and guidance in trying to help this would-like-to-have-been-contributing Wiki author.

Best regards, Mary (CCBear 18:15, 13 March 2007 (UTC)) [reply]

Hi. There's no consensus to delete middle schools. Please put it through AfD if you want it gone. - Richard Cavell 02:34, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Daniel,

Thanks ... I'll try to cool off. It was so frustrating to keep jumping over each hurdle only to mind that more hurdles have been placed in front of me... but truly, I was working through the jumps... but when someone wrote:

"Delete. Take this rubbish out to the curb. Nardman1 22:52, 12 March 2007 (UTC)"

It really upset me. Is this common behavior on Wikipedia?

I have been nothing but polite and I don't understand why this guy has to be insulting.

I'll see if I can regroup (and get a thicker skin)... Thanks again, CCBear

(Sorry, It's too late about a comment from Shields on the talk page I won't do that again (but his main focus was about Jerry Fairbanks Film Series not a Wiki page on his company) ... anyway, I'd be glad to remove it if that would be best. The three articles I wrote and rewrote about the Fairbanks Film Series were finally deleted because they had too much info. from Shields Pictures website. I do have permission (in fact he added some information I got from UCLA to the Shields website. Should I ask him to "make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication" I sent an email to permissions-en@ wikimedia.org over a month ago stating that I had permission and that they could check with ShieldsPictures.com if they wanted to conferm... should I ask Mark Punswick to send an email from him stating that he gave me permission or Wikipedia?

I don't care much about the Shields site but I do care that Jerry Fairbanks and his films are included in Wikipedia (I think I am so close that I want to give it one last try... Then I'll think about editing an article about Puppies or Butterflies ... no more drama (my heart cant take it).

Right now you are probably rethinking your note to me saying "not to simply quit Wikipedia "  ;-) Cheers!
