Thanks[edit]

Hey, Thanks for improving the TouchFLO and TouchFLO 3D articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joshualam (talkcontribs) 14:47, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the thanks. They still need a lot of work though - it will be difficult to make sure that what's written about them is the sort of stuff that should be in an encyclopedia. We don't want a user guide, and we couldn't have more than one or two photos or screenshots per article because the software is copyright. I'm currently investigating similar articles to get ideas... LB Enfield[edit]

Thanks for doing this, it was on my list ... specific local knowledge is better! Any attractions you know of? Kbthompson 17:02, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I think there are at least 5 museums in Enfield. This website will probably contain information about all of the attractions in Enfield. Dark-Fire 18:08, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A convenient list of attractions can be found here. I will add them now. Dark-Fire 18:15, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added some of the attractions from the list I linked to above. Dark-Fire 18:26, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ta. Some articles may need to be written. Cheers. Kbthompson 19:17, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

07[edit]

Thanks, i missed that. Simply south (talk) 12:36, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you're welcome - I was updating an article and I noticed that it wasn't working properly. Dark-Fire (talk) 12:41, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks mate[edit]

Thanks for that mate, missed doing it on the second image, all fixed. Cheers Mitchello 1:30am 28 June 2008 (EST)

iClone[edit]

The problem is that there are dozens of similar phones that we could add to the list, if we add one competitor every other manufacturer of similar phones will want to be listed like the Neo 1973 and Chinese iPhone knock-offs so the article will just end up with a really long list of phones at the end of the page. iClone is a term I use describe the style of lozenge-shaped phones that are almost totally touchscreen based and tend to have a very simplified UI with large icons. There are tons of these phones around, maybe I will write a section about iphone-like phones but putting them in the 'see also' list is not a good idea Towel401 (talk) 23:31, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reviving a long dead little project[edit]

Dear Dark-Fire...Last October you stopped by Lady Aleena/User Oxbridge and edited it, though it was thought abandoned, which it mostly was. However, if you think that it is still worthwhile, I will start in on it again and hopefully get it up and running for all Oxford and Cambridge students to use. What do you think? LA @ 03:33, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's worthwhile, and already reasonable in its current state, hence the fact that I am using it. There are various uses for that userbox - for example, the categorisation that comes with it would make it easy to find Wikipedians from the same college (which brings numerous benefits, both to Wikipedia and users of the userbox). It's also remarkably versatile, and good for increasing the transparency of Wikipedia with minimal effort by users, by invoking college/university pride. Many of the abbreviations for the Cambridge colleges need working on though (the Oxford ones are much better) and, personally, I think the abbreviation for Cambridge would be better as "Cam", like the domain name (cam.ac.uk), rather than "Ca" (again, Oxford is OK - its domain is ox.ac.uk). Also, it's nice to have a single versatile userbox rather than many random ones because your userbox does every relationship with every college possible, is easy to find, and has a single layout - if random users were to create their own userboxes, they could end up being uninformative, have dodgy layouts, be difficult to find (resulting in duplicates being made) and could miss out colleges and relationships. I hope you resume the project and, if you do, good luck with it! Dark-Fire (talk) 07:09, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please do me a favor and post a list of abbreviations that need to be changed on the talk page of the userbox. Thanks in advance LA If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 12:00, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
